"There you go."
I watched the pilot movie. It's interesting that the main cast is in place except Mark Richman has the JD Cannon role.
I saw Cannon in AN AMERICAN DREAM recently and he plays a tough cop in that. I can see why Richman was replaced--he's a little too mild as a foil for Weaver. Diane Muldaur is so well cast--she and Weaver have instant chemistry despite being so opposite in mannerisms and backgrounds. I didn't realize Raul Julia had been around so long.

Who Says You Can't Make Friends in New York City?
The first episode of the series with JD Cannon taking over as Peter Clifford. What a big difference he makes. This is the original episode I watched--not the re-edited one which as I understand made it really confusing with McCloud going to Paris!

The Concrete Corral - Joanna Moore. What a looker! This one starts with McCloud walking through New York streets--it's great how back then they could just set the star out among real people. He walks past one woman and she turns around and smiles-obviously recognizing him.
The ending has a surprise cameo that could have been the lead-in for another episode!
I am reminded that McCloud jumped genres in the final season and episode with him encountering a vampire!

The Stage Is All The World --This had a very good guest role for Richard Dawson. Also Teri Garr has a funny brief un-credited scene(I see she becomes a recurring character). But I am missing Chris Coughlin.

WALK IN THE PARK - I didnt recognize Susan St. James at first. I wonder if this her audition for Sally McMillan. Also a good guest star turn from Nina Foch. And they included a music video interlude.

The final episode of season 1 was a case where they pretended to go to abroad but shot in some backlot street that was close enough to pass for a French one. Clifford is held hostage while McCloud has to go to Paris. A french airline stewardess(Susan Strasberg) assists him.
Season 2 expands to 1:15 minutes and the premiere episode ENCOUNTER WITH ARIES was pretty good. A kidnapping plot--and once again Susan Strasberg shows up. In those days no one thought about repeat casting so much.
Sam McCloud: Excuse me, would you hold my bomb a minute? Now just a minute. I got a pebble in my boot, I think.
Peter B. Clifford: Must have fallen out of your head.

"TOP OF THE WORLD, MA!" Bo Svenson guest stars as a simple-minded guy who seeks money from a big crime boss. Stephanie Powers is a former prostitute with an amusing New York accent. There are some great shots of the cinema district-it's fascinating to see what was playing in 1971---you could catch Shaft paired with It Conquered the World. More Dead Than Alive was still playing, you could see Clint Walker and Vincent Price advertised on the marquee.
