Remember what happened to Global Airlines Flight 33 when it broke the sound barrier? Maybe turning the calendar back a few million years, and getting a fresh start, might be a good idea.

During the Vietnam War, it wasn’t uncommon to hear sonic booms. I’m assuming these were pilots doing practice runs on various mock targets around the country. One even hit his afterburners nearly over my house. It was awesome.

Remember what happened to Global Airlines Flight 33 when it broke the sound barrier? Apparently the same thing, as when DeLoreans hit 88 MPH. Seriously,
I noticed that they BOTH make booms and shake violently!

Concorde would fly over our house every now and then but I can’t recall ever hearing a boom.

This article references that problem of supersonic transport: This is probably why you don't recall sonic booms from The Concorde. I believe this is also, why the Concorde was usually only used for International Flights, and why Supersonic Transport didn't become widely used throughout the airline industry.

Talking about annoyance, here’s a wonderfully annoying record from 1980...

I didn't think it was that unusual to hear sonic booms. It is in London. When I heard it I thought it was a bomb going off at first as I’ve heard a couple of those in the past.
