About near the end of "Rise of Skywalker", I recognized it as a remake of a kung fu film I once watched, but I don't know the title.
The kung fu film began with an "uncle" type character (Luke was much like him), who is one of three bad ass kung fu experts, all young. I believe he is narrating the beginning. He is told by one of the other two that the third is a spy who is going to murder innocent people, so the 'uncle" character helps to fight this third man, whose two young sons are watching.
After dealing the third man his death blows, the one who got the narrator to help shows he is the actual spy, and since he was the toughest, he is not afraid of the narrator. The narrator somehow manages to escape with the two boys and separates them.
From there, we go into the future, and the one who is apparently the younger boy is a "rebel" against a regime led by the man who killed his father. This man is older now, and has many students, but two main ones. One has already murdered some innocent people. The other one actually warns the "rebel" to get away and not get into trouble.
As you can probably guess, the one who warns the rebel is actually the older brother, working from within, and he doesn't reveal himself till near the final showdown. He winds up sacrificing himself to save his younger brother.
The older brother, of course, represents Kylo, and the younger brother is now "sister" who adopts the name of Skywalker.
Does anyone know the name of this kung fu film? I'm sure one of you kung fu fans will know it.
