It's a tough call. Honestly I was never a big FF fan, so we can eliminate Mr. Grimm first. But I'm a huge Addams Family fan, and The Thing (1982) is one of my all time favorite films. I'll go The Thing (1982). Side note: I always get a kick out of the word 'titular.'

The Thing ( Addams Family) as it was in the sitcom from the 1960s. I think this is a lot better than having a hand running around like in the movies from the early 90s movies

The 1982 Thing is so bad ass. As cool as the Addams Family Thing is I gotta go with Carpenter. As for FF I always thought Ben Grimm was a poor man’s Hulk.

The Thing ( Addams Family) as it was in the sitcom from the 1960s. I think this is a lot better than having a hand running around like in the movies from the early 90s movies The original Thing from the comic panels was a human, usually seen only from the waist up, often in the background or in a cage. It's unclear what his role was within the family unit. It was the show creators who decided to turn it into a hand, and make it into more of a servant for the family. A brilliant creative choice. Despite only being depicted as a hand, if you look closely you can see that while Thing is usually a right hand, sometimes it's a left hand; adding to the mystery.

No love for The Thing from Another World?
I hope this thread will draw Mr. Rocks (Anthony, not the fantastic 4 guy who Tim Roth thinks Lawrence Tierney look like) back to the board.

Sorta, but that Swamp Thing-esque creature design is pretty specific, and cheesey as it is, I have affection for it.

I never saw The Addams Family TV show – only the movies with Raul Julia, Anjelica Huston and Christina Ricci. I don’t remember much about them, not even if I liked them or not.
I loved some Marvel comics when I was a teenager (Spider Man, Daredevil, The X-Men). I didn’t dislike Fantastic Four, I was just not interested in it.
So by process of elimination, I have voted for the 1982 John Carpenter movie. I remember liking it well enough, although not as much as some people who consider it an all-time favourite in its genre. I don’t think I ever re-watched it.

I'm also reminded by this thread title of a 'movie' called Things.
I've watched a lot of garbage, but this might be the single worst movie I've ever seen. It barely counts as a movie, but since I saw it in a theater (albeit projected from a VCR) I count it among the worst movies I've ever seen. It was clearly just a few idiots with a video camera in the 80s that threw something together with no idea as to what it would take to make something in minimally coherent, but since it was the late 80s and small video stores were popping up everywhere they apparently were able to get some kind of distribution, and so it became sort of an extremely minor notorious cult film.
It's absolute nonsense in every way, but it was fun to watch with a crowd, and oddly the titular (teeehee) 'things' are the highest production value in the entire pile of shit that is this 'movie.'

THINGSWow. Yeah... that's kind of it, but honestly if you'd asked me what it was about that's not anything close to what I would have said. At best that's some like brief exposition/backstory. I didn't even remember that.
