DB Cooper Roanoke colonists The Roanoke colonists most likely assimilated with the neighboring tribes. Josh Gates, an archaeologist with his own TV show, joined a "dig" in the area near the colonist's fort and they found glass beads which had to have been manufactured in Czechoslovakia. They survived.

Amelia Earhart. Theories by the dozen, but no fully satisfactory accounting of her disappearance as of yet. Yeah, many theories. Most of which could be true... But the weird part is, as far as I know, they can't all be true... So how can so many of them be equally true... For example: Some claim that she crashed as sank, near Howland Island... I don't believe this, but lets say, that is what happened... Distress Calls are known to have come from the area near Nikumaro Island... How could this be, if she was never there? Who was sending signals? Numerous eyewitness claim that she was on Saipan and saw her plane & Personal Documents... Again, how could this be, if she was never there... Some people even claim they saw a female pilot. So, what other female flyer was flying around in 1937?... And how can so many people be mistaken about seeing a female pilot in 1937, when Amelia was really the only one at that time? It's not like how people today, can mistake one blonde for another blonde, if you know what I mean. I don't believe hundreds of people were all "mistaken"... So. If it wasn't Amelia Earhart sending distress calls from Nikumaro Island..., and Amelia Earhart wasn't in a prison on Saipan... Then who was it? That raises a unusual question... Could the Japanese have heard these distress calls, and found her on Nikumaro Island, and salvaged her plane... and then taken her to the Marshall Islands, and then to a prison in Saipan? Seems Impossible, but I can't explain it any other way... Unless, there were Three Amelia Earharts...

That's not the one that aired a few years ago, claiming that they had a photo of the two of them, where Amelia was sitting on a dock, is it? Because that photo is not of Amelia & Fred. It was taken and published in a book in 1935, two years before her flight. Not saying that she wasn't beheaded... just don't put too much faith in that theory, if you got that idea from the documentary that I mentioned.

But, how many other female pilots were flying around the world, or near Japanese controlled waters?... And how many of them were reported missing, and possibly captured by the Japanese?

Amelia Earhart. Theories by the dozen, but no fully satisfactory accounting of her disappearance as of yet. Viewed a TV special, where Ms. Earhart and Noonan were beheaded by the Japanese as spies. There's an interesting story that Gore Vidal (Vidal's father Eugene was a friend of Earhart's) relates in an essay on her; supposedly a Navy ship came close to an island in the vicinity of Earhart's disappearance, close enough to make visual contact of a figure onshore, who was signaling the ship--the odd part of the story is that the figure appeared to be female and was wearing what looked to be a pair of men's white underwear: Vidal noted that Earhart was fond of wearing men's BVD style-shorts and would often borrow pairs of his father's. If the story is at all true, it certainly throws a different light on her fate and what the official story of it might be concealing.

The implication in Vidal's retailing of this suggests that the ship might have deliberately turned course and abandoned her (if it was her). Perhaps there's truth to the rumor that she was engaged in some secret work that could have been embarrassing to the US government if it were to become public as a result of her rescue.

Louis Le Prince. The inventor who made the first known movie - Roundhay Garden Scene. Vanished after boarding a train two years later. Some think Thomas Edison was involved.

The Princes In The Tower. They have a crypt with 2 skeletons that they claim to hold the bones of those boys but Queen Elizabeth II has refused DNA testing on the bones. Even after they confirmed Richard III was planted in a park and ride lot. Also it's weird how the circumstances of their disappearances was just swept under the rug and most arguments boil down to which fan club you are part of. York or Tudor. The kids were declared illegitimate, locked away and then vanished and it's like nobody bothered to ask questions or do a follow up! I'm not one for conspiracies but it seems like a lot of info was destroyed between Richard III and Henry VII's reign. The most popular point of view seems to be William Shakespeare's play and he was basically just sucking up to Queen Elizabeth I. The real cause of death, if they were murdered then why if they were declared illegitimate, and who ordered the deed have been lost to history.

The Ninth Legion's disappearance is sort of fascinating. It's popular to theorize they vanished in Scotland but then there's competing records suggesting the unit survived to fight in other parts of the Roman Empire.
