'All that's missing is the dick', kind of lesbians. Okay, I get it. That's fine. They want to look like men. Okay. But I don't understand the appeal with women who like other women going for women who look like men. Are they really lesbians? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of being a lesbian to go for someone who looks like a man?
These things make me wonder.

If transgenderism is a "mental illness" then what illness does a lesbian who wants to look like a man suffer from?

If transgenderism is a "mental illness" then what illness does a lesbian who wants to look like a man suffer from? Nothing. They just prefer to embrace their masculine side over femininity. They're still women. And feel like women. In the end they don't have a dick, so that probably makes the difference.

Nothing. They just prefer to embrace their masculine side over femininity. When you see a woman out in public who's got the appearance of a man, you have no way of knowing if she's either transgender or if she's a lesbian. If she turns out to be transgender, you'd say she's "mentally ill", but if she turns out to be a lesbian, you'd say she's just "embracing her masculine side". The kinds of rationalizations that you people on this forum come up with are amusing at best and preposterous at worst.

She may not want men sexualizing her. This is not a mental illness, but it is a form of denial, since the only reason why most men bother to pay females any attention, is because of sexual objectification.

Perhaps some women just relate more to what femininity represents and feel more comfortable being with a woman dressing like a man, than with a natural born gender male. Aren't women constantly complaining that men don't understand them? The ones that do are likely gay and are not interested in females sexually, so they take the next best thing, a butch lesbian, who at least knows what it's like to be female. They don't want masculine male douchbags in their life.

How a person dresses is merely reflective of their personal style. No one is trying to fake people out by "pretending" to be a man. What irks some people, and what causes them to erroneously make assumptions, re: "women trying so hard to look like a man," when in reality, many of these "butch" women are simply not dolling themselves up to cater to the male's idea of the personification of straight femininity.
It's just clothes, people...
