Ramayana/Mahabharat etc have huge potential to be made into really badass TV series. imo the content is way too much to be shrunk down even into a trilogy of sorts. However, as it is tied into the whole religious sentiments aspect, it is probably impossible to have the dark humour and snarky stuff in a mainstream big-budget production.
Btw, remember when Shakeela and soft-porn movies had a really good run at the box office a decade or so ago?

Most of the main characters are supposed to be north Indians. It's not like they can pass south Indian actors as north Indians. They look way too different. Are Telugu people open minded for such idea? |
