Let's not forget Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte. Bette Davis and Olivia DeHavilland starred in that one. The op mentioned it when he/she said Bette Davis had a number of horror films under their belt.

Bit a big bump, I know, but I had not found or read this fine little thread before, and while my pick ain't exactly on the same level (or even from the same universe) quality speaking, as most of the other titles mentioned here, but I do love this film for all it's silly and simple minded low budget b-movie plot. It features (big surprise) a story about an little old lady (with a few loose screws and then some) and of course a tragic incident happens early on, leaving the poor woman even more crazy, and her only solution is to get a dirty and cheap motel starting as fast humanly possible, and the best cure for grief and having a bad time, is to give the place some good ol' publicity by killing off any unlucky soul that decides to take a chance by staying the night over, at the Mountaintop Motel. A real riot of a b-movie, that I caught on a norwegian TV-channel, named Showtime in the late hot summer night of 2006, and I loved the quirky and ridiculous motel guests, specially the sleazy salesman, who just happens to pick up two horny big titted strangers, that stands in the heavy rain alongside the road, while they got their t-shirts all wet, and of course Mr. sleaze, the knight in shining armor, decides that they can spend the night at the nearest (cheapest) motel, with him, and he also tells them he's a big record producer and wants them to do a little "performance" for him, so he can later on judge if they are worthy a contract with his record studio. Then of course, we have the least scary villain/serial killer of them all, as Evelyn the caretaker is going on a "rampage", showing up in the different guests room, leaving them little gifts, lying around on the floor. It really is a entertaing little b-movie gem, that is more funny than scary. There is not a lot gore in it, but the goofy and silly plot/acting and characters do make up for it.
