I have over 3100 songs, and it's becoming a chore listening to them even thought I want to keep them all.

Never, I am never musically satisfied. I will keep adding songs and albums to my repertoire till the day I die. (or become immortal)

I have favorites I haven't listened to in years. But I want them available.

I do. I sort of feel like I burned myself out a bit. I went hard for years. I had a local record shop that was open until midnight 365 days a year. I was going every day after I got off work. That was at least 15 years ago though. Now I hardly ever listen to music.

I've stopped buying music because you can listen to whatever you want on You Tube. And Sirious has stations dedicated to my genres.
I've inherited all my grandmother's old records and her record player and I will keep those. I may eventually add to it when the world opens back up.

No but then I don’t listen to music all the time (nowadays I tend to listen more to spoken work material) and I know longer feel like I have to keep up with what’s going on. I’ve got almost 2500 tracks saved on my iTunes and stored on my phone and top it up every now and then while occasionally deleting something after I can’t remember what I like about it in the first place.
On a side note I currently have Billy Joel’s “Pressure” stuck in my head and I hate that song. Is there some sort of surgical procedure that can remove it?

Most of my music is digital, so it just sits quietly on a hard drive without taking up space. I have no idea how many songs I have. My bigger issue is having too many musical instruments. I have at least a dozen scattered around the house, so I'm going to convert a spare bedroom into a music room just so I can have them in one place. I'm definitely a music nerd.

No way! I still purchase CDs, mostly through second hand stores, and they are so cheap in price, they are almost giving them away for free, where as the only real official record store left in my city (Oslo), is still far too expensive, so I rarely ever visit that place much.
I am probably more of an album kind of listener, I like to hear it all the way through, but of course, very few of my CDs have 10-12 classic/great cuts on them, but the days where I would only listen to singels/songs, by themselves, is not that often anylonger. But I often find new favorites, either through Youtube or watching movies and tv-shows, so using Youtube to maybe take a closer look at a few unkown artists or bands, is probably the best way, then if I like it, I might pick up an album or more.

With me its not music. Its movies. I have hundreds of movies on DVR and DVD. I will never find the time to watch them all.

I still buy music in the CD format, and then rip it to my computer. And I am an album oriented rather than song oriented person.
The music library on my PC currently contains 3,221 songs. That is most, but not all, of the albums I own on CD. And I am constantly on the hunt for new albums to buy. So no, I don't feel I have too much music.

Yes. Over the past couple of years I've been divesting myself of cd's that I'm fairly sure I'll never listen to again.
