Well, 20 minutes in and Palace have restricted City to zero shots on target. Is this City just warming up or have the visitors got half a chance here? It's a tad sluggish. But Palace are keeping the City threat at bay for now.

It's one-nothing on the 28th minute. A superb De Bruyne long pass found the head of Stones who potted without fuss. The cross from De Bruyne was a sight to behold, outside of the boot, measured, with just enough power to meet Stones' head and no one else's.

Roy Hodgson there looks a bit deflated after his side's determined opening 27 minutes. His eyes dart towards the referee as appeals for a penalty ring out from the Palace players. MacArtur, was it, who went down in the box. But this isn't even going to get a review and it's play on. I still can't get over the De Bruyne ball in.

Gundogan robs Townsend, takes control and lets loose with a swerver that leaves Guaita scrabbling thin air ten minutes into the second period.

It's three on '69 but who's counting the clock? Well, Roy Hodgson for one. He can't wait to get on the coach back south. Things are beginning to hot up at the top. City as it stands go second to United with 37 playing 35; above Leicester on goal difference and a point ahead of Liverpool. De Bruyne sent the corner in, keeper parried but only as far as Stones who blasted it home with no messing.

De Bruyne's energy is conserved and off he comes as part of a double substitution. What a contribution he's made tonight.

Four-nothing with a couple of minutes to go here. Since that 1-1 draw with WBA, City has won all their EPL games, this being the 5th. Make that 8 if you include the cup ties. Sterling.

It's all over and Palace have received a thorough lashing. They didn't manage a shot on target and claimed less than one third of possession. Let's see if the latest title odds are up...
They are indeed, that was quick : Man City 4/7 Liverpool 7/2 Man Utd 7/1 Tottenham 20/1 Leicester 28/1 Chelsea 50/1 Everton 66/1 100/1BAR (source B365)
