It starts out as a very promising spy caper, with Gregory Peck playing an Oxford Egyptologist who has been commanded to decipher an ancient hieroglyphics cipher by nightfall. Loads of style throughout, from Henry Mancini's opening theme, and beautiful opening titles artwork, to Sophia Loren resplendent in Saint Laurent couture. But the plot just becomes kind of dull in the middle. Such a waste of talent. 6/10

Entertaining lighthearted spy movie. A lot of "interesting" camera angles that became tiresome after awhile.

I felt like that they were going for a Charade vibe with this one but they missed by some margin. Peck and Loren are solid, but the plot is ridiculous and it's not half as much fun as it should've been.

Just gently preposterous fun without becoming embarassing... except for hepcat "daddy-o" terrorist.
