Because nobody asked for it, but also because nobody saw this coming; I give you:
Tom Brady's 10 WORST Games. As with his best, these are the games that stick out in my head. I remember the games, though again obviously I had to look up the stats. Also though it should go without saying, full credit to the defenses of the opposing teams. I'm not pulling a dsdsquared "Brady kept shooting himself in the foot," here, just pointing out that I'm fully aware Brady has had bad games.
1. 2009 Wild Card Round vs Baltimore-- L 33-14 (Brady: 23-42, 154 yds, 2 TDs, 3 INT) Welker blew out his knee in the season finale, which didn't help the offense in this game. The team was very inconsistent that year (2-6 on the road, 8-0 at home). For the season overall I'll give Brady the excuse of coming back from a devastating knee injury, but for this game in particular, he just plain sucked. This one's on him.
2. 2012 AFC Championship Game vs. Baltimore-- L 28-13 Brady went for 320 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT in a blowout loss at home, again to Baltimore. The Ravens had a great defense and would go on to win the Super Bowl; but Brady has beaten great defenses in the past, so if I give him credit for dominating them, I have to assign him the blame when he doesn't perform well. Bottom line, the offense scored 0 points in the second half.
3. Super Bowl XLVI vs NYG-- L 21-17 You have to be able to score more than 17 points in a Super Bowl. Game got off to a bad start with Brady throwing the ball away in the end zone and getting called for a safety, one of the biggest bonehead plays of his career if you ask me. Overall his stats aren't great but aren't terrible (276, 2 TDs, INT) and they had a lead in the 4th. But the offense scored 0 points in the 4th quarter, and as much as I like to bitch about the defense, you have to score points. We can bring up the Welker drop all we want, he catches that ball, the game is basically over. The defense gets one more stop, blah blah blah. You can't put up a goose egg in the 4th quarter and expect to win.
4. 2013 AFC Championship Game vs Denver-- L 26-16 Brady went for 277 yds and 1 TD, the game was never competitive as the Pats only had 3 points through 3 quarters. Putting up 13 in the 4th isn't nothing, but it was too little too late.
5. Super Bowl XLII vs NYG-- L 17-14 After leading a historic offense to a 18-0 record, they completely sputtered out against the Giants, scoring just 14 points. Some might say this should be higher on the list, but I'm giving Brady credit for throwing a go-ahead TD with under three minutes to play. You can have a bad game and still come through when it counts. Nevertheless, for the video game offense they were running all season, 14 points is a complete failure by any measure.
6. 2010 Divisional Round vs. NYJ-- L 28-21 The stats don't really back me up on this one (299 yds, 2 TDs, INT- so, not terrible), but this was a MVP year from Brady and he was just off in this game. He threw an early pick that had a huge return and the offense never really seemed to get into a groove. They went 14-2 that season, and you'll be shocked to find out I was complaining about how the team wasn't actually that good all year. Well they laid an egg in their first playoff game and I honestly wasn't all that surprised. The defense should've been able to pick him up against Mark Sanchez (who threw 3 TD passes), but by now I had learned not to count on the defense to get a stop if they needed one. Not blaming the defense alone, this was a team loss. Brady had a bad game by that season's standards and it cost them.
7. 2019 Divisional Round vs. Tennessee-- L 20-13 Brady had been given nothing to work with this season, but he found a way to make them a top ten offense somehow. He just couldn't do it in his final playoff game in New England. 209 yds, 0 TD, a bad pick six toward the end of the game when they were backed up near their own end zone.
8. 2005 Divisional Round vs Denver-- L 27-13 Brady went for 341 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT including one returned to the 1 yard line setting up an easy Denver TD. They only scored 6 points through 3 quarters, that's not going to get it done in the playoffs. It was Brady's first playoff loss, he had started his playoff career 10-0.
9. 2011 Week 3 vs Buffalo-- L 34-31 Brady actually went for 387 yds and 4 TD, but also threw 4 picks. (Which hilariously matched his SEASON TOTAL from 2010.) I'm reaching for bad games at this point.
10. Super Bowl LIII vs LA-- W 13-3 Brady went for 262 yds, 0 TDs, 1 INT (his first pass of the game). The offense actually moved the ball alright, but you have to score points. I'll let him off the hook a little, considering they scored 10 points in the 4th qtr, including the game's only TD set up by a series of incredible passes. But still, 13 points? If they had been facing anyone other that Jared Gofful and a one legged Todd Gurley, they would've been in real trouble.
So there you have it folks, what a bum this guy is.
