To answer your question seriously, Jep. This isn't a Freddy Adu situation, it looks like Pulisic is the real deal. He's holding his own and then some internationally. Hopefully he's only the beginning of a new generation of talented US soccer players, I'd like to see the US contend for a World Cup in the near future.

He plays for Dortmund; he can't be good.

He's been on a couple of top European teams and done well, but I wouldn't call him an international superstar just yet.
He wears #10 for Chelsea right now, the scoring position. He needs more goals though. Tamy Abraham, Mason Mount, Giroud and Timo Werner all have more goals than Pulisic right now for Chelsea in the 20/21 season.

I've got Pulisic at no.3 in the most overhyped football players in World Football, certainly a Freddy Adu situation at the moment, though in his defence, he is being coached by a brick at his present club Chelsea.
As I once told the poster above, I've got the USMNT going close (reaching and losing a semi-final) in the year 3022. My guess, you won't be there to witness it.
The Bundesliga has a lot to answer for giving the new generation of US footballers an underserving platform to showcase and improve, but it's more of an economics factor rather than any outstanding ability.

He's already more accomplished than Adu. He's not a legendary player or anything, but better than Adu.

I don't want to even imagine the tragedy that it would be for Mexico if the US were to become a legitimate contender for the World Cup before they do...

I t would be good, but can't see it realistically. Would need a whole new mind set in American sport. He is where he is purely because of his family background and their connection with the sport which is rare in the US. Maybe in 20-30 years? but I can't see it even then without the collapse of another sport.

How's his form been this season?
I thought Chelsea would have a good season purely based upon their some additions adding to his form at the end of last.
Obviously Werner and Havertz haven't made much of an impression thus far but don't know if Pulisic's form has dropped as well...

Our best athletes are always going to gravitate toward football and basketball, but I have hope the US can at least field a competitive team on a consistent basis. When I said 'contend for a World Cup' earlier, I really only meant a team with a realistic shot at the qtrs. with regularity. Anything beyond that isn't a guarantee no matter how great your program is anyway.

I thought we already had one. Hope Father Jack enjoys that reference, wherever he is. Top film 👍 Dogs, football, puppies get saved, bad guy gets punished, not so bad guy gets puppy of his own and becomes a good guy... What's not to like 🤷♀️

What's not to like 🤷♀️ No talking animals in this one though, as far as I know. It must be exemplary if you approve.
