That's a fan made trailer. The offical trailer is going to be released on Sunday. Kong was still growing in Skull Island. Godzilla vs Kong is going to feature Kong in his full size, decades after the events of Skull Island.

Fanboys of Godzilla are pretty upset
I was under the impression that was a real 'teaser' released from HBOMAX/Warner Brothers - it's all over the Net
So this is false?

That'a just a 2 second spot. No official trailer has been released. Before this, there was another 2 second spot and someone merged the footage and made a fake teaser. Anyways, the real trailer is going to be released on Sunday. Team Kong here as well lol.

Don't let Godzilla fanboys tell you otherwise
They'll tell you that Kong was swimming off in fear - but the fact is - Kong was swimming off in victory at the end

I suspect they will leave it vague so that people who don't realize that the movie is a work of fiction controlled by writers, directors, and ultimately a studio will continue to argue about who actually won when the whole thing is designed just to create that argument. Like Freddy vs Jason did. On a side note: imagine what they could do with costumes, makeup, and miniatures these days. All that CGI is fine and everything, some of it looks cool, a lot of it looks phony. But if the studio had the balls to put the resources into a movie like this and go back to the guy-in a-suit version of godzilla but they made an amazing state-of-the-art monster suit, and maybe King Kong is done with meticulous top of the line stop motion animation and they built awesome to-scale cities and landscape environments, and they just augmented sequences with CGI... that could really be something cool and special, instead of just another CGI fest where countless building fall down... which I'm sure I'll watch and reasonably enjoy. But I'm sure it'll be as forgettable and mesh together with all the others like all of the recent Godzilla and King Kong movies.

I have a feeling we'll see something like Batman vs. Superman (one of the very few Super Hero movies I've seen at least most of)
i.e. - they end up fighting; however team up to ward off the true villains
Rumor has it there's going to be other monsters in this
If it was a straight Kong vs. 'Zilla slugfest - I'd love that - but I'm expecting the above

Fans of the genre complained that it was boring, you barely saw the monsters. I think that's what I liked about it. It was a monster movie that focused on the people trying to figure things out and survive instead of creatures mindlessly knocking down buildings for two hours. Skull Island sucked because it was just CGI slugfest after CGI slugfest, same with whatever the last Godzilla movie was. My guess for Godzilla vs Kong is they have the monsters duke it out a couple of times, with one monster 'winning' each encounter; then they have to team up against a greater threat in the third act. You appease fans of both creatures that way, and fill your quota of CGI mayhem along the way.

I'm actually a fan - just not as big a fan as I am of King Kong
Godzilla better than Kong: Skull Island?
In what world?
Kong: Skull Island crapped all over Godzilla
A zillion times more entertaining

You appease fans of both creatures that way, and fill your quota of CGI mayhem along the way. I definitely liked it the best of any of the new ones. I prefer the character driven approach more than the CGI smashing stuff approach, but I don't think itndid that especially well. It had a good cast but didn't necessarily give them very complex people to portray. Some of that tension building by withholding the effects was pretty cool, but I dont recall it leading to a great reveal either. I did appreciate the real world responses though, like the ending where there's like a fema type crisis relief center made out of a stadium or wherever that was. Also, why the obese godzilla design? I don't really get why they would do that. The next one was pretty lame. It was nothing but monster fights and pretty much no characterization or plot, which is what everyone said they wanted, but then they bitched when they got that too. Gareth Edwards, who did 2014 Godzilla, made a movie before that called Monsters which is worth a look if you haven't seen it. It's basically like a Godzilla movie without any of the cliches. It's a small, intimate character drama that has giant alien monsters in the background. But it's tzke on the monsters themselves is pretty original too.

Hulk vs Thing, stuff like that. The two heroes would square off, Hulk would get the upper hand in his book, Thing would comeback in the FF issue, and of course they're both heroes so somebody has to pay. Storytelling 101 for two iconic characters.

I'll have to check that out, I like Gareth Edwards. Rogue One is an awesome flick, he made a war movie out of a Star Wars story. I know there were major rewrites and reshoots toward the end of Rogue One, but the fact that he directed Rogue One and Godzilla has me thinking I'll like Monsters. Thanks for the rec. Totally agree on fat Godzilla, I don't get the design either. And they killed off Cranston much too early. It's not an amazing film as films go, but for a 'giant monster attack' flick, I appreciated the angle they took, with the audience watching the events from the ground up (literally and figuratively) much of the time. And for the record, as much as I disliked Skull Island and KOTM, you better believe I'll be checking out Godzilla vs Kong asap. I know it'll be a disappointment, but I'm a sucker for these classic monster movies.

As I understand it Gareth Edwards was basically fired from Rogue One and Tony Gilroy made about half of it, but Edwards was still credited for union regulations. We will probably never just how much was contributed by Gareth Edwards, but in the press they seemed to give Gilroy a lot more of the credit. Monsters doesn't appear to be readily available to watch anywhere that you'd likely already have a subscription... same unfortunate scenario with Brotherhood of the Wolf... But it's definitely worth a watch. It's sort of the anti-Kong: Skull Island. It takes it's scenario seriously, it avoids all of the common monster movie clichés, it shows you an alien lifeform that looks truly alien and imaginative and not just an amalgam of common animals on earth like most movies' limited imagination. It's good stuff. I'm with you on Kong vs Godzilla. I'm obviously gonna watch it. I just don't care that much and I don't really have any expectations, but I'm curious enough to watch it. It's different now than before though because I don't have to spend any extra money. I only saw Godzilla: King of the Monsters in the theater because I already had a subscription to that theater. I don't know if I'd have spent the extra money to watch that or this new one.
