Googling any name I can think of, can’t find any other you’d call a giant other than Mays. I'm finding out players who died that I thought were still alive. I thought Willie McCovey was still around.
Well, career derailed by injury, but my favorite player, Tommy Davis. And Koufax, Aparicio and Mazeroski.

This is a tough one. Forget about Bond. Hank Aaron is the real HR King. I used to not like him taking away Babe Ruth's record. As I learn more about him and understanding all his achievement, he became one of my most respected person not just a baseball player. RIP. Pretending Barry Bonds isn't the HR king is like pretending the Steroid Era never happened. And that precisely why the Steroid Era happened. "chicks dig the long ball". We watched players hit baseballs further than anyone thought humanly possible. We watched Sammy Sosa go from no more than 15 homers a season to 33 overnight and on the road to the truly impossible, 60 a season twice. No one gave a shit until Jose Canseco's book came out, Then the shit hit the fan. I'm no fan of the juicers for two reasons.
1. They didn't do it to help their teams, they did it to help themselves. Enrich their wallets and enrich their place in the record books.
2. They shit on the record books. No one will ever hit 73 home runs is a season. Might was will be 60 pitching wins in one season.

I’m not sure who this “Barry Bonds” is that you speak of. Sounds like a real a-hole though.

RIP. I remember him from a 'Happy Days' episode. I can't say that I know his sporting career but he made a studio full of people very happy indeed when he appeared.

Fun facts that always amaze me is that he never hit 50 or more HR and never struck out more than a 100 times in any season . And oddly enough only has 1 MVP award. I wasn't lucky enough to witness him play but from what I have heard he was a truly good person and respected the game. More players should aspire to be like Hank.

His numbers were always excellent, but he seemed to rise to the active HR lead out of nowhere. I'd have loved if McCovey or Banks was closing in on the record at the time.

Fun fact #2 - If you subtracted every home run from his career he’d still have over 3,000 hits. That’s Gretzky-like. I have recited this so many times in my life I can't count, including today. This and Musial's same hits at home and away are my two favorite baseball trivia facts.

Another fun fact
Hank Aaron is the all time leader in total bases. Stan Musial is second. If you gave Stan 180 more home runs he would still be second.
