Ben Affleck throws shade at Armageddon, swears those types of movies are behind him
Ben Affleck is done doing movies like Armageddon. The actor is focused on doing things that are more rewarding for himself, as opposed to a giant action popcorn project.
"There was this captive audience of people who are all of a sudden at home, and I think more people saw it than would have gone out to the theater. I think you have to weigh that. So now the line is blurred, and I'm just looking to do stuff that is personally rewarding. I think my Armageddon days are behind me."
"People with whom you can identify are more interesting to me because I no longer have the ability to do something when I'm bored halfway through it and hate it." He went on to say, "At this point in my career, I'm a little old. I'm 48, so I don't know how much longer I'm going to be the "not-25-year-old" guy."

Okay, but he's going to direct an adaptation of a YA fantasy novel for Disney and will be playing Batman again in The Flash.

I think in 2014 (7 years ago) we was interested in doing Batman like Tony Stark in MCU. That’s how it was pitched to him by WB.
Then he would direct his own Batman film. He wanted to learn SFX from Snyder and use his story telling techniques.
Now, he’s 48. He’s right. He had a window and it’s closed. He loved Batman so much when he was young.
He was on fire with Gone Baby Gone, The Town and Argo. He jumped to the blockbuster stuff because he thought it was his last chance to play Batman. He soured because of the backlash of BvS and then the production of JL.
I don’t blame him. It’s time to move on. As much as I loved his Batman. Maybe one more film if HBO Max would give home complete creative control and he could do an older Batman one off... but outside of that. Yeah, I’d like to see Ben get back into the directors chair.
