So the heated debate on Twitter today is, “Why is Tom Brady forgiven for his political views, people can separate his views from his play on the field... but not the same for Colin Kaepernick?”
I have a few answers for this:
a) Tom didn’t make any bold political statements. Plenty of players are Trump supporters and plenty are Obama supporters. But wearing pig cop socks and protesting during the national anthem isn’t the same as Brady having a political view.
b) Kap isn’t on Brady’s level. Tom Brady may be the greatest American athlete in history. Kap is a great second string QB.
c) Kap doesn’t want to play in the NFL. He is making more money as a social media activist. He isn’t doing anything. He gets to sit on his ass and collect a check. That last tryout was a joke. He set himself up to fail, just so he could keep that narrative going about “oh, I’m still the victim.”

I mean let's be honest, race plays a huge factor. But yeah, Brady has made no bold political statements and hasn't gone out of his way to preach to anyone.

It’s like, you can be a Christian... but if you’re in the locker room telling people they are going to hell if they don’t accept Jesus... you’ll have a divider locker room.

Protesting like Kaepernick did during the National Anthem really rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. That Anthem means a lot to a lot of people who might be willing to accept protests, just not during the Anthem. Tommy Boy wouldn't do such a thing.
The pig socks really didn't help his cause either.
What really bothered me about Kaepernick was his refusal to vote in the 2016 election. It's not just Hillary vs Trump, there are MANY important Congressional seats up for grabs, as well as ballot propositions that mean a lot to the people that Kaepernick supposedly cares about. Protest all you want, but if you're not voting, then it's all just empty rhetoric.

It appears as though you answered your own question in the OP. Can't say much now other than yeah, those answers are good enough.
But the fact is, Kap never really had a chance though. He's a black man and if you're black, you have absolutely no chance to succeed in America. The ones that did achieve something are just lucky. Somehow they were able to dodge the white man that was coming for him (or her).
In fact, if you are black, you would be better off leaving the country. If you stay here, you will get killed by a white police officer, they're out out to get you. And plus, you have no chance to succeed anyways... why stay?

This idea that a black man has no chance of succeeding in the United States is some of the biggest bullshit that anyone can imagine. Give me a break with that lazy, slightly racist narrative. There are thousands and thousands, if not millions of blacks in America who have wonderful lives for themselves and their families. Any person who is born in the United States in the last 50 years or so has every opportunity given to them to be a successful person. If an individual chooses not to believe that, and instead wants to think they have no chance, that's their problem, not anyone else's. When we actually give it a rest with stupid narratives and begin to look at things honestly, then maybe some actual progress can be made. Slavery ended in 1862, the Civil Rights Movement was 60 years ago, there is nothing holding anyone back who actually wants to succeed.

No problem. It just seems like this is the theme going around now days that blacks are at "high risk" of getting killed by police officers and whatnot... and its just not true. Shame really because its doing a lot of damage to this nation.

Brady is a footballer, not a politician.
And maybe he simply watched the Golden Globe:
