My guess is because he's a singer. It's not bad casting honestly. My only concern is that whether or not Quasimodo's ugliness is toned down.

Josh Gad has been great in everything I've seen him in. He seems like the perfect choice to me.

Josh Gad has been great in everything I've seen him in. He seems like the perfect choice to me. I think a great wildcard choice would had been Stephen Graham but I don't think he's a singer.
