The National League, National League North, and National League South are meeting this week to decide whether to scrap the season.
This comes after the government have reneged on the promised covid grants to keep the clubs and leagues afloat.
The grants have become loans, which many small clubs won't be able to repay. A majority of the 66 clubs have said they won't accept the loans.
Still, DCMS covid grants for illegal stag hunting groups eh 😒

The National League has now started charging the clubs that refused to play last Saturday with 'Failure to fulfil their fixtures'... Gonna be even more interesting who refuses to play again this Saturday.
The government has doubled down, and now denies that they ever promised grants. But the minutes of their virtual meeting with the National League have mysteriously been mislaid. A Freedom of Information request has been made. They have four days left to release the minutes to the public. They will probably be 'lost', or something 😒 If they don't materialise, I think a safe assumption will be that the government is shamelessly lying.

The charge sheet being sent to clubs who refuse to play. In this instance, Dulwich Hamlet, currently on two charges, and along with others, they are refusing to play again on Saturday...

Concord Rangers are among the clubs charged. They have written back saying they won't be answering the charge, as they have 'just cause' not to.
Tonbridge Angels have written to the League warning that unless the league is null and voided, the club will be insolvent by the end of February.
Spennymoor Town have had enough, and withdrawn from the rest of the season regardless what anyone else does. In other words they have resigned from the league.
So far, 8 games are off in the NLN and NLS tomorrow in which clubs refuse to play. Expecting more later.

In my opinion, the FA should step up now. Take control of the National Leagues, and make a quick decision to take money from the EPL/EFL to keep the national leagues going, or null and void them right away.

A miserly 12k each will not help them to survive a second wrecked season. The national league arguably pays too high wages in a attempts to get in the EFL. (the championship in microcosm?) The North and South should get some help though.

That is why the NL will continue, as the NLN and NLS call it a day, or just fall apart. The pull of the promised land of League football with it's higher income and status is too strong. FGR is/was in profit after a couple of seasons in League 2 before covid. We got in a couple of million debt trying to escape from non-league. The only way to keep up with bigger clubs and the likes of Salford there was to overspend. Luckily our chairman baled us out.

Maidstone United (great travelling fans by the way, really good fun and friendly with it 👍), have now furloughed all their players and staff.
If forced to play any more matches this season, they're just gonna field some 'non-contract' players.
Sounds like they will just grab anyone who fancies a game, and put them out.
There is no integrity left to continue the National Leagues this season. Somebody just have the balls to end it. It's painful to watch it slowly fall apart.
Non-league 2020/21 is finished 🙅♀️ (with the possible exception of step 1).

Bunch of loud mouthed cunts who try and take over every ground they visit. No manners and need a fucking good slap. Think they have a God given right to win every game they play. Nearly laid one out a few years back. As to the rest, yes just step 1 (div. 5 to me) should continue. Hard to see everything not running normally next season, so write this one off before clubs go out of business (apart from Maidstone, they can fuck off). Jamie Kempster was a good player they had, though.

They are my non league West Ham. Legends in their own minds.

Dover have ceased operations and placed all staff on Furlough (currently 2nd bottom in Div 5) and returned loan players.

Darlington pull out of their match with Boston tomorrow. Unaffordable.
They go so far as to accuse the National League of misleading clubs regarding funding... I'm not sure about that. Until the minutes of the meeting between the NL and DCMS are made public, I'm inclined to think it's most likely that the government shafted the league.

Guiseley also not playing any more...
“We will not be participating in the fixture against Kidderminster tonight nor any further League fixtures until the result of the vote is known.”

I get what you are saying but there has to be a time when a discussion is needed about how many professional clubs there should be and how many clubs can a country the size of the UK support. Should it, in reality be anything to do with the government when football clubs run themselves in ways which are financially untenable? Of course at the moment the Government is responsible for what is happening lower down the pyramid but for years way too many clubs have acted irresponsibly. There used to be hardly any non league professional clubs, now they no doubt are all professional in the Nationwide and many probably are in the south and North (do you know?) Maybe it's time for the sport to readjust and be made leaner. I know each one has a history and a loyal following but other countries do not even attempt to have the number of professional sides we have.

Voting by clubs has concluded.
The National League (step 1) will continue.
The National League North, and National League South (step 2) have abandoned the season. All results null and void. No promotions or relegations.
Three thoughts from that... I assume the National League will now be two up/two down from EFL League 2, with no relegations from the National League.
I expect steps 3-6 will null and void there season now. Basically non-league football is over until next season, all results null and void 🤷♀️ Step 7, the County Leagues, are all but over already. Shire for example only managed 5 games, and it's nearly March.
And thirdly, we need to get to the bottom of what the DCMS actually promised the leagues. Was it grants, or not? Who is responsible for this whole sorry mess.

Just to make things even more complicated.
Gloucester City AFC don't want to continue the season, but have started legal action against the null and voiding of the results so far 🤦♀️
They are at the top of the NLN, and want to be promoted. Which is mental, they haven't even played half the season's fixtures 😒
Tough really. The clubs voted to immediately end, and null and void the season. It's over, done.
Don't do a Trump, and refuse to accept the democratic vote. Don't embarass yourselfs Gloucester.
Accept it. Move on. And prepare for the 2021/22 season.

Unbelievable!
The Freedom of Information Request made for the minutes of the meeting between the government and the National League has been denied.
So much for 'freedom of information' 😒
I think that proves that the fault of all this mess is shameless lying by this slippery as fuck government.
