So you're asking us to 'trust the process' then? I think Frogs can get on board with that messaging.

Just for some clarification
Per the above - it states 3 picks per day
My Wednesday picks are done
So I'm assuming my new day begins at 12:01am - i.e. about 11 hours from now?
I typically wake up around 3am
I knew you would ask this question! Let's say the new 'day' begins at 8:00 AM EST. That way nobody is hogging all the picks overnight. Personally I think the game is much more fun in quasi-real time, when we're all alternating picks off and on all day. Logging on to see someone made three picks in a row overnight sucks a lot of the fun out of the process. 8:00 AM seems like enough time for people to get their day going. Also I like your idea of updating your posts with your full roster as you go, we should all adopt that detail once we get onto page 2 and beyond. It'll make it easier for people to keep track of who's already taken. Will do.
Just wanted some clarification
I don't want any Tomfoolery in this game - like Tom Rocks stealing Tim Duncan from me
My next pick will be forthcoming at 8am eastern time tomorrow (1/28/21)
Enjoy

I like Tom Hardy as an actor, but among the many issues with The Dark Knight Rises was trying to make Tom Hardy look tall. Yeah, but that's unique to him. He's 5'9", so not short by any stretch, but not exactly tall. Tom Cruise is 5'7" and it's hilarious when he's in scenes with Nicole Kidman. Plus, Arnold is 6'2", which is certainly a good height, but in Terminator, they make him look 7 feet tall. Yeah, I just think it's done more successfully in other movies. Like I just looked up Mickey Rourke, and he's like 5'11" which is above average, but I'm still looking down at him in real life, but in Sin City he's a hulking behemoth. But when Tom Hardy puts his little hand on that guy's shoulder in The Dark Knight Rises I don't by for a second that he's actually standing over that dude. I do think he's a great actor though.

By the way, I'm taking Kurt Russell with my second pick.
I don't believe I have to explain much as to why. He's just fucking great.

I mention in the write up that he's kind of a forgotten action star. You look at his resume and wow. The Thing, Escape From New York, Big Trouble in Little China, Tombstone, just for starters! Not sure how you feel, but I think Tango & Cash is a blast.

I take Sean Connery. And that’s all I need.

There's also Executive Decision, Breakdown, Bone Tomahawk (sorta), Backdraft, Unlawful Entry, Soldier, and even in Death Proof where he is ultimately a crying little bitch (which is hilarious) he's an imposing actiony villain. Plus he was doing all those like westerns and Disney stuff since he was a little kid. I guess people think of him as an old school movie star because he did a lot of different kinds of movies, but you're right that he's sort of not thought of as an action guy but he's definitely got the credentials.

Alright, while I have the chance I'm going to use my final pick of the day on a Mt. Rushmore action star.
Harrison Ford
No explanation necessary, buy for fun I'll list some of his most iconic roles:
Han Solo in original Star Wars Trilogy (1977-1983) Sequels never happened
Indiana Jones in the Indiana Jones Trilogy (1981-1989) KOTCS never happened
Deckard in Blade Runner (1982) 2049 never happened
Dr. Richard Kimble in The Fugitive (1993)
Jack Ryan in Patriot Games (1992) and Clear and Present Danger (1994)
President James Marshall in Air Force One (1997)
So my roster thus far:
Harrison Ford
Christian Bale
Daniel Day-Lewis

I take Sean Connery. And that’s all I need. Bond, The Untouchables, Highlander, The Rock, the list goes on. Henry Jones Sr. in The Last Crusade! I don't mind admitting I thoroughly enjoyed The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen despite it being a total mess and Connery having a miserable time making it.

Second pick... Mila Jovovich (Resident Evil 1 to whatever number they are up to now) I think I've only seen the original. She was great in The 5th Element. Cheers to you for representing the women, Jack. I thought I'd get around to it on day 2 or 3.

I wish they’d do a serious reboot or remake of Highlander. While I loved the first one and kind of liked the tv show, none of the actors in it ever looked like they actually ever held a sword in their entire lives. Give me Darth Maul-like fight choreography, not Connery doing whatever he did in that.

I’m sticking with old school and taking the IRS’s favorite movie star, Wesley Snipes. Love that first Blade. I've discovered I'm in the minority in not only liking the second movie, but liking it more than the original. Both are great but I felt like the story was more cohesive the second time around. Either way, both are Snipes at his most Snipes. Shame the third one was garbage.

If you've seen one of them, you've seen them all pretty much.

There was supposed to be a remake a few years back, someone having something to do with Twilight was attached to write or direct or something, which terrified me. Ultimately that fell apart, thank god. As much as I love the original (and the show was fun even though it was ridiculous that cousins from the same region would both be immortals when there are like 20 of them on the planet), I could definitely go for a remake if they respected the concept and took the action to another level.

The guy who directed the John Wick movies was most recently attached to direct, with the Ant Man 2 writers. Ryan Reynolds was once attached to star, but is no longer, as far as I know. I like Highlander, but the original movie is a total mess. It's loads of fun and the concept is great, but the rules and the story don't make a lick of sense. That basic premise is so strong though. It's really the only movie series I can think of that I'd say I would really be into seeing redone. That 80s cheesiness is great, but this story line could support a good take on an action/adventure movie, and you could hit different eras I history. Obviously you think of it being half Braveheart and half modern day, but there's no reason to limit it to that, you can go anywhere in the last 800 years or so. The real question though is: Who do you get to sing the Queen songs these days?
