The guy who directed the John Wick movies was most recently attached to direct, with the Ant Man 2 writers. Ryan Reynolds was once attached to star, but is no longer, as far as I know. I like Highlander, but the original movie is a total mess. It's loads of fun and the concept is great, but the rules and the story don't make a lick of sense. That basic premise is so strong though. It's really the only movie series I can think of that I'd say I would really be into seeing redone. That 80s cheesiness is great, but this story line could support a good take on an action/adventure movie, and you could hit different eras I history. Obviously you think of it being half Braveheart and half modern day, but there's no reason to limit it to that, you can go anywhere in the last 800 years or so. The real question though is: Who do you get to sing the Queen songs these days? Queen with Adam Lambert? I could get behind that.

For my third and final pick of the day I’ll take the guy who was a QB (twice), an FBI agent, protector of runaway buses, the One, and John Wick, Johnny Utah himself, Keanu.
So I’ve got Arnold, Wesley Snipes, and Keanu.

There was supposed to be a remake a few years back, someone having something to do with Twilight was attached to write or direct or something, which terrified me. Ultimately that fell apart, thank god. As much as I love the original (and the show was fun even though it was ridiculous that cousins from the same region would both be immortals when there are like 20 of them on the planet), I could definitely go for a remake if they respected the concept and took the action to another level. The guy who directed the John Wick movies was most recently attached to direct, with the Ant Man 2 writers. Ryan Reynolds was once attached to star, but is no longer, as far as I know. The real question though is: Who do you get to sing the Queen songs these days? I love how it's a Frenchman playing a Scot and a Scot playing a 'Spaniard' originally from...Egypt? If you really want a mess, try watching Highlander 2. Suddenly they're all aliens. But yeah, the premise is killer. Endless possibilities, it's begging to become the next great franchise. By all means, make it a series on a streaming service, each season devoted to a certain time period. I'm all in. And I like Ryan Reynolds and all, but no thanks for this property. I want it taken somewhat seriously at least.

Also, special thanks to screamingtreefrogs for choosing three athletes on day one, helps the thread's case for remaining here on the sports board.

I didn’t hate it but felt no real need to watch it again.

I want it taken somewhat seriously at least. I think Ryan Reynolds is capable of being serious. He's done it before. But if they put him in that everyone would definitely expect it to be comedic to some degree. I say you go with a good Scottish actor. How about you go with James McAvoy and then if he's willing Patrick Stewart as the old sage. Or I guess since Connery was the 'Spaniard' he doesn't need to be Scottish. Keep him as the Spaniard and Javier Bardem or Antonio Banderas. Or if they need it to be more diverse, which of course they will, give me someone like Dimon Hounsou... or maybe Ken Watanabe. I think the Spaniard was meant to be able to fit in and not look out of place in the Scottish highlands in that era, but you could sort that at... I think already I've put more thought into the logistics of this story than they did originally. Highlander 2... are they aliens? I think it depends on which version you watch... which just speaks to how insanely absurd and terrible that movie is. It's either set in the future, on the planet 'Zeiss,' or ... something else altogether? Who the fuck knows. It's wild.

My third for today is a bit of a longshot, but I'm taking a flier on Bruce Campbell.
Just gotta love this guy. I always thought he could've been a bigger star. He's got the look and he's legitimately funny and good with physical and otherwise goofy comedy.
I hadn't seen him at all in a whole and then I caught up with Ash vs The Evil Dead on Netflix. It's just so much fun and he's great.
So far I've got:
Hugh Jackman Kurt Russell Bruce Campbell

Much prefer that version, no aliens but still a lousy film.

It's got a really great knock down, drag out fight of an action sequence. You can probably find the scene on youtube if you don't want to bother with the film, I guess.

Bubba Ho-Tep! I watched some of that show purely for Bruce Campbell, but ultimately it was kinda fun otherwise too. I kinda liked the lead guy whose name is escaping me at the moment. Bubba Ho-Tep is great. Don Coscarelli was prepping a sequel with Bruce Campbell and Paul Giamatti at one point called Bubba Nosferatu but I think that's dead now.

Jeffrey Donovan is the lead in Burn Notice, he's actually a UMass alum. He's always solid (great in Sicario), he's one of those guys that I can't figure out why he didn't have a better career.

He is great in Sicario, and he's fantastic in Fargo, Season 2. I wouldn't sing the blues for him too much, on top of having over 50 credits, he was pulling in $200k per episode of Burn Notice. Not too shabby.

For my third pick, I'm taking Harrison Ford because, dammit, someone has to.
Bruce Lee Tom Hardy Harrison Ford
I'm jealous of the Kurt Russell choice. He was going to be my third.

Isn't it enough you stole Bruce Lee from me? I was hoping he would somehow slip to day 2 and you took him right out of the gate!
