She was 96. R.I.P.
I liked her in Airport 1979.

R.I.P.
Could you not have chosen a different title for the thread?

She was 96. R.I.P. I liked her in Airport 1979. I was most impressed with Airport 1975 which I watched recently for the first time in its entirety. There wasn't a dull moment. I have always liked Airport 77 too, which was the one I saw first, but was never fond of what I knew as Airport 80: The Concorde.
I know you have often commented that you enjoy it Mr. Dirty. Perhaps need to give it another whirl.

Absolutely! You have called it out for what it is, she has died.
That's what I was about to say. "She has died" sounds better than "Is dead," which is kind of tasteless. "Passed away" works too. Honestly, writing "R.I.P." next to her name is simpler yet more effective.

And anyway, I did include the R.I.P. in my post.

If the OP title had been "Mike Tyson is dead" I don't want to think what your reply would've been. Never heard of the actress by the way.

If someone said that about a family member, I wouldn't be at all offended or find the wording tasteless. Not enough to point it out anyway. It isn't as if we personally knew her. People are too sensitive.

That's it right there. Humans don't go through life only taking their own standards into consideration. It's usually better to avoid saying things like these even if the tasteless factor is just a possibility, because you never know how others will react. In this case, who's to say someone who knew her and loved her won't come to this forum?

Breaking the news that someone is dead isn't tasteless it's a fact that she's dead. Bickering over how to describe a dead person who actually is dead is really pathetic are you normally this anal?

The OP didn't post "old bitch Cicely Tyson is worm food" she posted that the actress is dead.
