I agree that they shouldn't be telling people about his private fantasies, but now they are out there. This kinds of disturbing kink isn't going to go over well, especially because he has apparently acted on it to some extent and sent cannibalistic messages. To what extent the specifics of the allegations are true is a different story.

What the article implies is that he texts these things and the other person isn't okay with it. We don't have enough information about the situation, though I can imagine a scenario in which the other person never explicitly said they weren't okay with this, were already aware of his kink and are still in a relationship with him then that would be different. Texting someone that you want to eat them and drink their blood is a direct threat depending on the context.

I will say that some of it reads like he is a douchebag and pissed off his lovers and now they are just trying to embarrass him and ruin his career. The one who said he carved an A into her doesn't seem like she put up much of a fight and was indulging him at the time and then he scorned her and now she is using that against him. We simply don't know the circumstances. There is no doubt he has fantasies that are on the far end of disturbing, but context matters. Did she give him permission to carve an A into her? And carving an A into someone sounds worse than it might be. The wording matters. A. He comes in with a hunting knife and brutally carves an A into her body. B. They are laying in bed and he says he wants to cut and small A into her because that would turn him on and she hesitantly agrees.

We only see one side of this conversation. We don't know if the messages are real. We also don't know if it's a mutually shared kink fantasy that he and his partner/s have shared.
Context matters and context isn't believe provided.
As for carving a letter, I've seen couples getting tattoos together, even getting "brandings" or piercings together. If you do some type of body modification and regret it later then post about it, it's the new fangled form of revenge porn.
I also think it's cruel to kink shame. People saying he's "acted upon it"? That's stating he actually ate human flesh. What's sort of interesting is, what if even that was mutually-agreed upon? (It's still a no-go because it's illegal but it's an interesting subject for debate).
Based on the news, no one has the full picture, or the full context, or all the information, and no one knows what's real, yet everyone's quick to be judge and execute someone based on "thought crimes."
