In London if we get more than three inches it’s almost a disaster so I can’t possibly imagine what you are going through right now.

I think they stated that the last time we had a storm like this was in 2016. I know up north (NY State, etc.) they will be getting more!

It appears now would not be a good time for me to complain about an expected quarter inch of rain here.

We've been getting snow alerts and then phone updates for severe winter storm warnings expecting up to 18" of snow.
Yesterday my weather app showed snow for the next 8 days straight.

Pretty views from above - but I'd be terrified to get that close to the end that far up!!! We live on a culdesac, and are usually the last streets that get plowed - highways, major thoroughfares, secondary, and tertiary. So far, the plow has been up our street twice today. Guess they don't want it to be too horrible. Only issue is, we've been (well, husband) out snow blowing, and then the plows come by and block in the driveways!! Oh well. Looks like no one is going anywhere tomorrow either.

That's like arctic region snow!!!! UGH!!! The weather app keeps changing re: what days we'll be getting snow. So far we don't really have much snow yet. It's strange because I expected, given all the text alerts, the signs on the highways, everyone lining up at the grocery story.....I expected a whole lot by now. I have a feeling it's really going to start picking up now. The wind is really banging against the house, and my biggest concern is lowing power because it's only 28 degrees out. I made sure to fill the propane tank. Filled my gas tank in the car. Charged the flashlights. Shopped for food and water and dog food. But I just don't want to lose power!

We were at our daughter's yesterday. It started snowing there around 5:30 PM. We left around 6:00. We're about 40 minutes away, and a bit north - she's across the river from NYC. We didn't start getting snow until hours later. It's really weird because they said we'd be starting around 6:00. Now it's going to continue through tomorrow afternoon - that's what they say now. I'm hoping we don't lose power. The wind started picking up. We have flashlights and candles, but it's such a pain in the neck! And yes, losing power in the cold weather is not fun. If it happens, we'll have to hunker down in the family room and keep the fireplace going.

I'm really sick of snow this year. We're a foot over our average in PA and I feel like it's always snowing in MI.

That's a nice drive!! I live in northeast NJ, close to the NY state border, and not that far either from NYC.

for the first time since i moved into this house i took the bus home from work even though it's only a kilometer. didn't feel like carrying a backpack and plastic bag of groceries when it's "feels like -17c" and snowing so i spent the $3.20.

We have some snow, but mostly we're in an extended deep freeze. This is the longest cold snap I've ever seen in my life. The low on Sunday is supposed to be a very brisk -27* F, which is a new record for me. Although when temperatures dip below 20* F, I'm usually bundled up like an eskimo so I can't really tell the difference anyway.
