Jason Takes Manhattan, Child’s Play 3 and Halloween 6 are sometimes pointed to as being the weakest in their franchises but I find them underrated. Child's Play 3 is my second favorite of the franchise. Good to see some appreciation for it. It's my fourth favourite.

Nightmare on Elm Street 2 is often considered one of the worst (maybe worst film in the franchise), though I still like it. Certainly better than the later, goofy sequels. Agreed. Nightmare 2 is about middle of the pack for me as far as Freddy films go. Far from the worst one.

Part 2 is creepy, cheesy, hilarious and very enjoyable, for sure. Never understood why it got so much hate. But of course, for me it was also the very first of the Nightmare on Elm Street films that I saw as a teenager, so I had never went in, thinking: "Oh, look out, here comes trouble!" Instead I loved it, and had a blast, and after watching the first two films. Pretty much everything that followed the third one, felt, not bad, yet still never really did much for me either. Sadly, I ended up really disliking the last two of the series. Might have to go through the entire series within the summer, as I have not done so since 2011.

Freddy's Revenge is my favourite Elm Street sequel. It's creepier than the later instalments and has a wonderful opening. And all the while retaining a sense of humour. I'm also partial to: Superman III (1983) A View To a Kill (1985) RoboCop 2 (1990) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993) Jurassic Park III (2001) Jason X (2002)

It's been 20 years since I last watched it, but by no means is it a bad film. Bleak? Certainly. But it's a well-made horror film (other than the dated CGI, that is). I look forward to checking out The Assembly Cut later this year. Have you seen that version? I believe it's a good deal longer.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Star Trek V: The Final Frontier have their flaws, but they have their strengths and I don't think they're terrible films. They're more "Star Trek" than any of the Chris Pine Star Trek films. The Motion Picture boasts gorgeous visuals and a majestic soundtrack. I really respect the hard sci-fi angle they went for. One of my favourite 70s film. The 2001 Director's Edition is the definitive version though. Star Trek V also has a fine soundtrack and lots of great character moments. The starship models and effects are abysmal, however, and the plot is a complete mess. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 handled the whole evil god thing much better. I'd still rank it ahead of the Abrams-directed movies.

Although many find it superior to the theatrical cut, I still prefer watching the theatrical cut. The additional scenes don't hurt the movie, but I don't think they make it much better.

This one isn't quite as controversial as it used to be (in fact, it's been mentioned in this thread already), but Halloween III: Season of the Witch is far and away the second best film in that franchise after the original, for me.

This one isn't quite as controversial as it used to be (in fact, it's been mentioned in this thread already), but Halloween III: Season of the Witch is far and away the second best film in that franchise after the original, for me. Glad to see others feel that way. I need to re-watch, well not exactly "need", as I remember having a pretty tough time getting through the films after Season of the Witch, which I thought were terrible and far away of the first three chapters. The original is still the best, but after that one, I loved how Carpenter grew tired of re-doing the same film/plot, and had plans of just making Halloween themed stories, every year, more or less, but without any connection to the first two chapters. Thankfully, Halloween III, ignores the Myers stuff (beside a small "cameo"), and is really quite a unique and creepy ride, full of gruesome special effects, kids getting killed, hell Conal Cochran, if his plans had/did succeed, a whole lot of kids would most surely die on 31st of October. Even more cruel, is the fact that he has lured parents all over America, to pretty much buy their own kids, a first way ticket to a terrible fate, as with those nasty Halloween masks, and how we later on, get to see what happens in the "test scene". Damn, that was some unpleasant and disturbing scene. Still, the music, atmosphere (some of the best horror movie scores of the 80s) and love those dark, brooding ice-cold synth-music, along with such a solid cast as well. Take away the Halloween name, and I am pretty sure Season of the Witch would have been taken in as a cult-classic, much sooner. But, over time, it does seem like the films is getting credits, and rightly so. But again, terrible promotion, hell, I have several times over, found norwegian/scandinavian DVD copies, where the title/artwork shows a huge picture of Myers and his mask/knife, one even adds Jamie Lee Curtis along, and for those having never heard or seen Season of the Witch, talk about misleading the custumers. But I guess whoever did that, could not care any less. Sad, because I know people have rated it with 1/10, "worst movie" just because it does not contain the favorite masked killer, and will probably never watch Halloween III either. I am glad, I went in and expected little, but instead got a whole lot back in return.

Halloween III isn't great, but at least it isn't a rehash of the original. They tried to do something different. That makes it the only other film in the series that I'd want to watch.

They're more "Star Trek" than any of the Chris Pine Star Trek films. I agree, though I still enjoy the Chris Pine movies too. Most of them. Into Darkness was my least favorite of those three.
Insurrection is also often listed among the worst Trek films, but it's my second favorite behind The Voyage Home.
