I'm watching the movie Ray about Ray Charles. I highly recommend it to those who haven't seen it. Even if you don't appreciate his music, it's a great biography.

artist, or anyone who inspires you. Two of my favorite actors. This performance won Davis an Oscar. Love Ray Charles so much ❤ Maya Angelou is one of my fav poets. I love this poem, and I love hearing her recite her work, she has a majestic voice. She's such a fine talent

Levar Burton, especially hosting Reading Rainbow which I know was more than just a job to him but he truly had/has a passion for reading. I watched it every time I saw it on growing up and even after I was well well past the age the books and show was geared to, even the reruns I had seen many times before. After a bad or stressful day, watch some Reading Rainbow was comforting. Levar had the perfect tone of vouce for a show about reading and imagination. I'm glad they didn't ever continue on with a different host. Just wish they still showed reruns.

I also liked him on Star Trek.

Here's a great song by Nina Simone which truly speaks to the black experience in America.

Robert Johnson- blues musician
Evelyn Preer and Hattie McDaniel- actresses
Hank Aaron-baseball player
Being black automatically means they needed to over come barriers. A couple died way way too soon. They all did what they do with style.
