Been downhill for years. They can't cover sports on a daily basis (never could) but their strength was the long articles, the ones on the last few pages. I think The Athletic stole that, they do it much better.
When I was a teenager-early 20's I would have thought it unimaginable to not have the latest copies of Sports Illustrated, The Sporting News and Baseball American lying around. And the preview magazines, Street & Smith, Athlon and TSN. Oh well...

I remember quitting si.com around 2015 or so. Their ad banner management was abhorrent - scrolling down to enjoy their long forms, the 25% of page covered banners would keep jump scrolling & blocking. I lasted one final NFL season or whatever in read-only mode, & then I quit.
It was bittersweet... si.com was the first mainstream commercial site I ever frequented on the regular.

Little did I know until I got home, they'd ditched the weekly issues for monthly. I bet they don't see 2030. There wasn't much in that issue... I didn't keep it in the end.

The Swimsuit posts aren't metered? The swimsuit issue is still a thing? Hasn't pornhub basically obviated that issue's relevance, to the extent it ever even had any?

I was looking at the list of staff writers. Other than Peter King and Tom Verducci, I'm not familiar with any of them. Used to be you were familiar with all of them, Frank DeFord, Peter Gammons, Leigh Montville, Paul Zimmerman.
