I could be wrong but i don`t think it can technically be called a coup, because a coup is trying to overthrow the sitting government or leader and not trying to keep you prefer leader in power.

Although this wasn’t a serious thread and ultimately I agree with you I could also argue that they thought they were trying to overthrow The Deep State which has been secretly ruling the USA for decades now.
