I'm watching the Ray Charles film now. Highly recommended, Jamie Foxx totally deserved the Oscar. This one and Oliver Stone's The Doors are really re-watchable. Walk The Line is also excellent

The Buddy Holly Story (1978) with a young Gary Busey is surely worth a watch. Some solid performances, music and film.

I am cheating a bit as this is not a movie but a mini series. Peter the Great its was based on the brilliant book on Peter the Great by Robert K. Massie.
