I remember coming home from my first job and my mother asking me, "When did you start smoking?" I realized that she could smell the stench of cigarette smoke in my clothes and hair that I'd picked up from being around my smoking co-workers.

There was a number you could call 24 hours a day to a recording which would give you the time. "At the tone, the time will be two twenty-three and 42 seconds." Ding. We had a phone number for time and temperature. When I first moved to the rural area I've been in for 40 years, I had a party line.

But that doesn't answer what the word "pog" is, so I'll tell you: "POG" is an acronym, comprising the initials of pineapple, orange, and guava--the juices of which were mixed to make a fruit punch popular in Hawaii, where the practice of collecting "pogs" originated. The wooden discs were the inner parts of the bottle caps of the punch...I believe. Somebody who actually collected those thingies would know that part better than I.

Vinyl has actually made a comeback, a lot of people collect it so more people buy it at second hand stores than any other form of physical music. |

it feels so crazy smoking was Ever allowed Anywhere indoors... like batshit crazy to me. Restaurants or planes or offices doesnt matter where it all feels Insane! Indoor smoking was banned where I live in 2004. I'm asthmatic. Growing up, pubs were no-go areas for me due to smoking. And restaurants could be tricky too. It's incredible to think that people were allowed to smoke in cinemas back in the 80s. Cinemas!

As a kid in the 90s I had a vaste pog collection. But as a kid in the 90s we didn’t have the internet so nobody knew where pogs came from, we just knew we needed them! Slammers were great tho. They were usually metal and heavy and had cooler designs. Like a super pog! |

For inflationary purposes, it was upgraded to "Here's a Quarter - call someone who cares". Just ask Travis Tritt. One of my favourite songs of his has this title.
Now, it would be "Here's 50 Cents - call someone who cares". Just doesn't have that same ring to it. 
For you old-time gamers, this may ring a bell:
Press Play On Tape
Back when the Commodore VIC-20 and Commodore 64 were prevalent in the 80s, before the disk drive, one had to physically load a game into the computer with a tape drive.
Load "Tapper" Press Play On Tape
Then we would have to wait 5-10 minutes for the game to load into the computer.

You can't slam the phone down now when you're angry. It used to have an impact that delivered a message to the other person to let them know they hurt you, and they would hear that *SLAM* loud and clear. Message received!
Now when you're on the phone and pissed off and hang up, *click* just doesn't have the same impact.
