I like to take in a documentary but I dont see them that often. What are your favorites? Any kind of documentary counts.
My top 10.
1. Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills (1996) Extremely captivating. I was incredibly hooked from beginning to end.
2. Deliver Us from Evil (2006) Extremely disturbing to say the least but a real eye opener.
3. 9/11 (2002) Shows footage from inside and outside the twin towers. Powerful stuff.
4. Roger and Me (1989) A solid capsule of time of Flint Michigan in the late 80s.
5. Religulous (2008) A very funny view of religion. Biased but entertaining.
6. Apocalypse Soon (2002) This is actually the making of Toxic Avenger 4. Its great because it shows the struggles of independent film making.
7. Bowling for Columbine (2002) Michael Moore can be a little too liberal for my taste but I cant deny how interesting this film is.
8. Beyond the Mat (1999) A great and informing view on pro wrestling.
9. Grizzly Man (2005) This one I saw in my high school film class when it was new. I was not expecting much but I was really into this film. Some of Werner Herzogs best work.
10. Crumb (1994) Very amusing film on an offbeat cartoonist.
Honorable Mentions: Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau (2014) Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple (2006) Sicko (2007) Super Size Me (2004) Grass (1999) The Kid Stays in the Picture (2002) Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors (1986)

I enjoyed 'Iron Maiden: Flight 666' that followed the band on their 2008 'Somewhere Back In Time' world tour. I also enjoyed 'Scream For Me Sarajevo', a very powerful documentary that followed Bruce Dickinson and his band (a short lived band called Skunk Works that he formed during his break from Iron Maiden) as they travelled to Sarajevo during the Bosnian war to perform a concert for the people who were living under the siege.
