GOAL '2 Traore took it down the right and fed it into Watkins in the box who had space to stab it home on 75 seconds.

Konsa and Lacazette both go to ground with heads. No concussion subs on yet, though, as the medics wave play on for the pair of them.

Kavanaugh blows up with Villa going in one up at the half with the early Watkins strike. He had a quiet word with Grealish before he inserted his whistle. The Villa man applauded Kavanaugh when not awarded a foul after a challenge by Bellerin. To be fair to Bellerin, Grealish went down like a rag doll under the slightest of contact. Arsenal have had a number of shots towards goal but the finishing has been left wanting.

4-1 for the Arsenal win, bet in play. A nice round 50/1. Pretty damned stingy, what?

No good. Some more poor finishing, this time from Barkley who is fed by Grealish at the side of the area but his shot is sliced wide of the target when he should have done better. Arteta may be thinking of bringing on Abameyang at some point, surely.

Arsenal look so dreary and uninterested at times. Need a major facelift.

The ball is on the edge of the Villa box. It strikes Grealish slap bang in the face. He seems alright for a few seconds but then goes down on his knees with his face buried in his arms. No one pays attention to him but eventually Kavanaugh blows up for something and Grealish has a chance to bemoan his lot. He took that one full on in the face. It was great.

Arsenal look so dreary and uninterested at times. Need a major facelift. I expected more. I think it's only yourself and La Fong for the Villa win here.

First Grealish fires one which Ryan saves very well, now Watkins watches as his shot rolls tantalizingly wide of the far post. Chance at the other end with Xhaka absolutely battering it over the bar when finesse would have been better. A few minutes remaining.

It's all over. Villa go up a place above Tottenham while Arsenal stay 10th. So many opportunities for more goals here but in the end it's Ollie Watkins' second minute one that's the difference.

Might join you for the second half. I'll bet Bruce can't believe he's winning. Give it time, but then again it's Southampton.

A Ward-Prowse special, over the wall and assaulting the net for 3-2. Come on.

Hendrick off for molesting his man's jersey shortly into the half. Newcastle down to ten. Oh dear, Bruce. It's all go.

Hussenhuttl look like Klopp without glasses right there. Saint-Maximin is pulled off and he'll be secretly glad to get away from this quagmire of a pitch.
