So often we hear about the rude, mean, or downright abusive bosses of the world......but have you ever had (or have) a boss that you truly LOVE(D) (and if so, what made them so good?) ??   SAVE FERRIS

I've been fortunate enough to say in my long career that I've had two bosses that I've really loved as my boss. Once was from 2001 through 2006, and one is my current boss. Both really good people, fair, very reasonable to work with, listen and mentor. Very good at managing people. Overall, I've had some average bosses, and three really horrible bosses, all three of which I outlasted - they got canned!  |

Not the top boss, but several supervisors under whom I worked directly, yes.

I did.
The boss that would be willing to talk about anything and everything - work and non-work related.
Of course, but God love him, the days he wanted to talk about non-work stuff were the days I really had to get work related stuff done. 
He bounced around from branch to branch, but came back to our branch in 2011 (?). He was there until he retired in 2016.
Sadly, he passed away a couple of years ago.

Yes! I was hired to create a computer lab for K - 6th graders.
My boss supported me even though he didn't know me from Adam!
He asked if I needed more funds regularly. He asked if I needed an aide. He asked how he could help.
He was a wonderful boss!
I had another great boss.

I have had a few good ones and also a few awful ones. Rest of them have been normal, average bosses.

Had two Great ones. Man I miss them both.
One was more of a mentor and gave me all / any of the good leadership skills I have today. I loved working for him and observed what he did and it changed my career around, literally from hating my job ans handing in my notice to loving my job and having success in it. All because of One Great boss.
The other one was later at my career and he was just so funny smart and attractive and kind plus gave me all the freedom and support I wanted/needed, that it was hard not to love him. For me. Som Other people were not as excited about him as I was, but for me it was simply The Ideal Match of what I want in a boss.
I would work for him again In a Heartbeat.
The rest were ok/good/decent excet of one really bad one.

I have been very lucky when it comes to bosses.
I have never had a mean boss. I have had very nice bosses and bosses who were just okay.
My current boss is very nice, but he is a bit of a flake.

My best boss ever was a principal who stood up to the bully teachers and defended the good teachers. Three years of heaven. Then it ended and shit rolled in. That’s life,
