I never had any problems with old films as I was growing up in the '90s. Wizard of Oz, It's a Wonderful Life, the 1940 version of Gulliver's Travels, Disney classics... But I think it was the film history classes that I took in college when my interest in classic films really blossomed. Then, ten years ago, I watched a lot of footage from the 1890s on youtube and decided to journey through the 20th century in movies--and then TV shows when I got to the 1950s. I watched a lot of movies from the early half of the century, discovering quite a few gems from the 1920s through the 1970s.

I think It's a Wonderful Life is the first classic movie I remember watching as a kid. After that it was all the classic scifi and horror movies I watched growing up. Then I remember watching my first foreign films shortly after.
I've been hooked ever since.
