I'd say it was all pretty much really bad from 1995 and on. What say you?
Usually with these types of artists, the point after they have a greatest hits compilation that's when their music starts to be horrible. So I might also say 1993 .
It really does seem that way if you look at most bands. Madonna, and rush also same thing.

I'm just saying that like any band, their was a time when their music was great, and then they run out of good songs.
For prince it happened around 1993. There's not much music released by this artist since then that is substantial.
You may not like the songs I just linked, but they are not unsubstantial. I'd even go so far as to say they're much more substantial than Little Red Corvette or Raspberry Beret or just about any of his other mindless hits prior to 1993.

I don't understand why opinion is offered up as statement. You mean, when did YOU stop liking them, nothing more. Personally I can't think of a time when "Rush" didn't suck and I'm bloody old. I liked a lot of Prince's output until the end, but my opinion is no more valid than anyone else's. People tend to put dates which are more linked to their selves going from being free and easy and interested in music to "not so much" because other things got in the way. Like those who decide music suddenly got crap when they mean they just stopped being interested or searching it out and stuck to playing the same old stuff over and aver again.

I started to lose interest around "Batdance" and I was following other artists by the 90s. Without having listened to much of his later discography, I cannot judge; is there any truth, however, to the opinion that he was so prolific but that sometimes he lost sight of quality control?
Anyway, I like this catchy song from his later period:
"Fury" [3121 | 2006]

I never really liked any of his stuff.
Not saying it was bad. Music taste is subjective.
