Hello there. So, I have a Zoom meeting tomorrow and this will be my first time and I'm not 100 percent confident that I know what I'm doing. I've registered and set up my Zoom account, but then what happens next?
The meeting is scheduled for 4:00. Will the facilitator send me a link on the Zoom app or does the link get sent to my phone as a text message? Or do I just jump in and click on "join a meeting" a couple minutes before 4:00?
I am not tech literate and I would really like this meeting to go well. The last thing I need is not get on board until 15 minutes into the meeting. Also, I will be using my Android for the meeting if that makes any difference.
Could somebody here with some Zoom experience please explain to me how this works? I would be so, so grateful!
Thanks!

I had a Zoom interview last year. I was sent a code to use to put in if I recall. That worked fine, yet I could see and hear them, but they couldn't see me only hear me. It was a simple fix, but I thought the image came up straight away. Not a good start to the interview.

When you open the app, there should be a Join button. That will open up a box with the heading "Join a Meeting." You should have received a Meeting ID consisting of nine to eleven digits. After entering that, you will be asked to enter a password (case sensitive) which you should have received along with the Meeting ID. (You already should have received this info at the time you were notified/invited to the meeting. (I usually get my notice via e-mail.) If you haven't received this info, you should contact the host or someone else you know has been invited to the meeting and ask them for the Meeting ID and password.) In some cases you will not need a password; rather, you will be in a "waiting room" until the start time, when the host will let you into the meeting collectively as a group. At that point, you will have audio/video options. If you're connected via wi-fi, you'll want to choose the top audio option when asked. Once you're in the meeting, you should be able to spot the toolbar that gives you the options to enable/disable audio/video.

I'm planning on getting "there" several minutes early. Wish me luck.

All I know is the name of the room and it's the facilitator's name. I'm going to e-mail and ask her if I need a Meeting ID/password in order to join the meeting or not. I knew I wasn't getting the whole picture here. Thank you for your detailed and clear explanation of how it all works, asse9! 🥰🥰🥰 I will report back here tomorrow on how it went.

yes ask the facilitator for a link and room id/password. once you click to open zoom you will have a chance to see a preview of yourself on camera BEFORE you actualy join the room/are visible to others. Pay attention to that part if u r joining with video as thats a good way to check what others will be seeing.
Once you click to join its all pretty self explanatory. Good luck, youll be fine. And Happy belated bday.

That is a bit slack, so you could be already to go. Best of luck. I was more fascinated with watching myself than the interviewers. Felt like I was on t.v. They cut out a few times as well and I couldn't quite get the gist of their whole questions. The first time I asked her if she could repeat the question, the second time I felt awkward to ask them to repeat and I just answered the question as I heard it, fragmented. I'm sure they must have wondered what the frick I was going on about. As it stood, I didn't get selected, but no great loss. It was for Sykes.

My Zoom meeting went fine. It was easier than I thought. And the meeting was super short.
But I felt very prepared for it. Thanks to everybody here who helped me out here. 🙂🙂🙂

A global outsourcing company that recruits employees, and I'd say also to help drum up business, for other companies/corporations. They were dealing with employees for a financial institute for the interview I had, but one works directly for Sykes, not the company they are hired by themselves. Inbound customer engagement services.

Inbound customer engagement services. Would you have enjoyed the job? I’m not sure I would, but at the time it was during the lockdown and I had been stood down. Any job would have done. It didn’t feel right at the time regardless. The zoom experience was interesting though even if a few technical audio hiccups. I was lucky to get through to the interview phase. A colleague of mine applied too and didn’t get offered one. We had to do a voice recording of answering the phone with a specified greeting. However, a phone interview one we both had for another similar company, she got offered the job and I didn’t. She turned it down though. Crap pay.
