Well why not? I don't think she did any one thing that demanded she be fired, she never crossed that line, but she's shown a pattern of behaviour for months of almost constantly raising the ire or what at least seems to be Disney's target audience, and you know it's like any other job, you can get away with being slightly rude to customers or business associates for only so long until your boss gets sick and tired of the small issues you cause, especially when in the end you are a completely replaceable cog in their machine. I disagree on the idea that she replaceable. I doubt Favreau and Filoni feel that way either. And I suspect the twitter mob was a loud minority. The show and her merchandise was a success up until the moment she was fired.

I may not agree with her politically but we are all entitled to our opinions. As far as I know, she has not physically harmed anyone or incited anyone to violence. I don't think she should have been fired, the Disney Corp. could have just warned her to refrain from all the rhetoric while she was employed by them. Most of us who have held jobs learned early on that sometimes you just have to keep your mouth shut if you want to keep your job. You can try to make changes by voting or peaceful protest or writing to your congressman.

If that happened, I can see why they felt compelled to pull the trigger.

The show and her merchandise was a success up until the moment she was fired. Yeah, I've heard the character was specifically created for Gina Carano. Yeah but her character isn't a vital part of the show, she was a great part of it in the few episodes she was in but she wasn't necessarily a required part of the show either, hence replaceable sadly, and if she was meant to be getting her own spin off but before it debuted thay can easily scrap the idea, not like SW is hurting for shows going forward or replace the character, Cara Dune was a strong but not exactly unique and complex character to recreate for talented creators which the Mando creatives are. I think had she done this after the show aired, or hell was mostly filmed then Disney would have just ate the bad press because they had sunk their resources into the character and Carano, sadly she pushed the wrong button at the wrong time, or the wrong buttons as it were and in too quick a pattern, if she did this 3 months from now it's probably brushed aside, you know the heat from the last conflict had waned and so the fire doesn't get too hot for Disney, but she's been a consistent source of this type of outrage as it were for the last 4 months every month, lots of places have those 3 strike policies, well 4 because usually it's an initial verbal warning before you get your first proper strike, which some reports I heard say has been the case with Gina, Disney told her to pack it in and were just waiting for her to say or do something else to give them the reason to fire her, sad but thats the world we live in, happens in all walks of life, not just celebs.

I don't know. Either way, she's gone. If this were so much as a few years ago, she would have been fine. It's just the times we live in now...

I dunno about that, depends I guess, but people needing to mind their P's and Q's on social media has been a thing for a long time now, normal companies do social media checks on potential employee's these days just to make sure that they wont get called out for having an inappropriate hire, but stuff like this with Gina comes and goes, just depends on the climate of the time, which can change week to week, like I said had she done this 12 months from now when she had her own show she's probably fine, if she hadn't put herself in the hot seat with her other recent comments over the last 4 months she probably would have been fine then also, she may have eaten some shit for it but Disney likely weathers the storm, or not, they did fire Gunn because some idiot dredged up stupid and offensive joke tweets he made before he ever got hired by Disney which he and Disney I think had already addressed, so who knows,?
