Help me out here. “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views.” If I am reading that correctly she is saying that Nazi propaganda was put out to make non-Jewish German's hate Jews and the point was that it made it easier for the Nazi's to achieve their end goal. Why is this angering people? What people are in fact angry about is that she is comparing the current political climate to the start of the holocaust and to not fall into the trap of hating eachother and calling for silencing of opinions you dislike and ending people's lives because they have a different perspective. The irony of the response in the article is priceless. We want Gina Corano's career ended because of things and stuff.

Disney is afraid of the Twitter mob.
Pretty shameful.

She did say some pretty stupid anti-mask stuff and covid-related stuff earlier though. And I think the trans activists were angry because she refused to “state her pronouns”, which in their warped mind makes her “transphobic”. Anyway, shame. I liked her character in ‘The Mandalorian’.

While I don’t think they should’ve fired Carano, comparing being a conservative to being a Jew in Nazi Germany is pretty stupid. you spelled "borderline retarded" wrong Now if she meant it literally that would be a different thing, but I didn't read it as literal. It was EXAGGERATION. The comparison is to what starts the process btw. Do I think that this country is going to turn into Nazi Germany? No, but there are a lot of very nervous and angry people out there at the moment that feel scared to even admit they voted for Trump and stuff like that. Fear of losing their jobs etc. Her being fired is an example of this very thing.

While I don’t think they should’ve fired Carano, comparing being a conservative to being a Jew in Nazi Germany is pretty stupid. Point proven. Exactly. The comparison is exaggerated and melodramatic. People love to play victim. It’s frustrating that so many pretend that for the past four years we haven’t heard countless leftist celebs wallowing in their mansions and yachts talking about how the “fascist” leader of America was just as bad as Hitler or the most racist president in US history and all that other nonsense. How many of them lost their jobs for that? None, and rightfully so.

That is a joke btw, but there are people who would actually call for that user to be banned for using that word.

Bad move, Cara Dune is a popular new addition to Star Wars and a lot less people than they would like to admit will not accept a recast even if the actress had an Oscar under their belt.

It sounds like she was giving Disney a FU. I don't think she was being like Brando where he tried to use WW 2 to critique the studio owners for their racial stereotypes, that they should be more conscious of other people's suffering. And it backfired--he had to apologize.
Ironically they hired her because they didn't want toxic masculinity on their show--they cant have a white man kicking ass.
But she sees the moral problems with their intolerance and hatred. As I said, for Disney's owners the vision that Maleficent had for the prince in Sleeping Beauty-where he is locked up until he is an old man that's Disney's agenda.
They did it in POTC 4. The white christian guy tied to the mast-who ends up wounded and dragged down into the water by the mermaid.
Or Luke turning into a ghost.
Even Fat Thor.

It's even a twinge ironic. At some point, a comparison stops making logical sense.

And again, I believe exactly *zero* of them should be fired and ostracized from the popular Hollywood community for it (as I put below the bolded section). But that’s what happened to Carano.

Cancel Culture is toxic.
What happened to educating people and helping them grow as a person?
Why is it that Hollywood is quick to forgive drug addicts and sex addicts etc... as long as they get rehab and therapy.
But, you can’t forgive someone for making a comment? I know this is a new comment, but maybe having her talk to someone and educate her on this subject?
Or why would Disney cancel people who made a comment 10 years ago? They have grown as a person in that time.
She’s a bit extreme on this, but there is irony in the fact that she got fired because an angry Twitter mob got upset.
