Hey Disney, might wanna look at this. Based on your own dumb standards, Mr. Pascal should be hitting the road too... (Also pretty funny that his "America, 2018" pic is neither in America nor from 2018 - it's from 2010) considering many were wrongfully imprisoned in actual camps, with sordid conditions, not sure how Pascals point really is bad?.

As expected alot of takes here sort of excusing her remarks.... Why not? Hating someone for what they say and do and hating someone because they're an ethnic minority are the exact same thing.

Because the picture wasn't even in America or from 2018. It was from a Palestinian soup kitchen where the kids were hanging out in 2010 on a Los Angeles Times photography page. Also, last I checked, there wasn't mass genocide and enslavement at the border in America.

This is a "fuck around and find out" moment for Gina Carano. There is no way Disney execs didn't contact her management team and tell them they better keep their client in check or they'll have no choice but to terminate her contract, and there's no way her management team didn't relay that ultimatum to her. This role was a once in a lifetime chance for her. Let's remember her career was launched in a Peter Soderbergh movie where 100% of her lines were dubbed because she can't act. After that she went through a stream of straight to video and bit part roles before landing Mandalorian. This was her chance, she could've taken it seriously like Dave Bautista took Guardians of the Galaxy. Everybody questioned that casting until they saw the movie and it's led to a thriving career for him. She should've seized this opportunity, taken time to develop as an actor (there was no progress between the first two seasons), and hired a publicist team to handle her online presence to promote her, and the result could've been her own spin-off show, or even movie appearances. Cara Dune is a great character and could've developed into an all-time character for fans, and now it's over for her and from her own doing. She fucked around and found out. Dave Bautista spends most of his time on social media trashing the right, be they politicians, fellow performers, and fans of his work - who he makes quite clear he does not want them to support him. He has said a lot of very ugly things and has acted like a bully a lot of the time but he is not jeopardy of losing any work, in fact he has Army of the Dead coming to Netflix which is meant to launch a franchise and he's going to be one of its faces. Disney also employs many more people who have say much worse things and present even less professional attitudes towards peers and happily alienate consumers, but because their beliefs are aligned with the leftist politics they get a pass mostly - Chuck Wendig got fired from writing Star Wars novels in late 2018. Disney is deeply capitalist, they have risk analysts who determine these things. They see the trends, they predict trends, they know what hurts sales and what doesn't and what will in the future. Gina Carrano's social media behavior was obviously deemed more offensive and more higher risk than Dave Bautista. Frankly, I've never seen a Bautista tweet go viral, because the young generations don't care about him trashing conservatives, they care about Gina Carano trashing trans people, being anti-mask and comparing republicans to Jews in Nazi Germany was the final straw. Is it fair? I guess it's as fair as capitalism can be. Don't like it? Push for Twitter and Facebook to become public utilities so they're subject to First Amendment rights, push for the Fairness Doctrine so your views have equal time in the public forum, push for Net Neutrality for equal access. I don't think you will, but they'd certainly help your cause.

Are we sure she was fired? I heard different things. I heard the contract was up and they didn’t need her anymore. Then again why are we listening to what people say on Twitter? It’s a cesspool of hate and anyone who uses it is just an idiot.

A lot of celebrities have negative things to say about conservatives. That’s nothing new. How is Bautista special in that regard?

I'm being sarcastic. A person chooses their political ideology. A person can't choose their ethnicity.

Hollywood is not known as or expected to be an apolitical community, not are all political positions equal unless you're a milquetoast centrist. Let's be real, saying Mexican kids shouldn't be put in cages is not the same as encouraging people to be dumbasses about face masks.

I hate stuff like this. If people put their politics aside, they would know this is wrong and why it never should have happened. Social media is trash, but people shouldn't be losing their jobs over being silly on it.

Well damn. I don’t agree with her tweets and I’m not a Republican or Democrat, but it wasn’t something she should have lost her job over. All this tells me is JUST STAY OFF TWITTER!!! It’s no use getting on.

Just a thought.

I’m all for people staying off Twitter. The world would be a better place if that toxic cesspool didn’t exist.
