slowly starting come out of the pandemic, is that times like these always bring about waves of remakes
the last recession brought us remakes of Halloween (2007) Halloween II (2009) Friday the 13th (2009) Race To Witch Mountain (2009) A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010) Wolfman (2010) Karate Kid (2010) Pirannha (2010) True Grit (2010) Let Me In (2010)
post recession brought Fright Night (2011) Straw Dogs (2011) Red Dawn (2012) Dark Shadows (2012) Carrie (2013) Lone Ranger (2013) IT (2017) IT part II (2019) Pet Sematary (2019)
i saw all the ones in bold in theatres
if anything this era will be the same.
i think its fair to sat most of these will get a big screen reboot within the next five-ten years
Horror The Exorcist Jaws Amityville Horror Poltergeist (again) The Omen (again) Rosemarys Baby Psycho The Fog (again) Silver Bullet The Howling Christine Nightmare On Elm Street (again) Friday The 13th (again)

I heard the Russos want to direct the next Poltergeist remake. Sure. Why not?

I heard the Russos want to direct the next Poltergeist remake. Sure. Why not? Because they have almost no directorial talent.

"The Exorcist" is getting a sequel... "Amityville Horror" is getting another film... "Poltergeist" is getting another reboot thing. "The Omen" is getting a prequel to the original. So it could lead to more films. Today talk of a sequel to the original "The Fog" movie was posted...
Assuming these aren't scrapped altogether and come to fruition.

Well because it is cannibalizing itself. They will not even consider the idea of doing something that is not a remake name.
Normally, you say "gee I like the Howling, it would be fun to do a werewolf movie again."
"What would be a different idea?"
"Oh I don't know-maybe werewolves at a ski resort? Or Die Hard with werewolves?"
They don't do that. Now, it's "remake the Howling--make a few changes but we want a remake-- and something that can be a series.."
No more single volume movies... And you end up with such inferior quality because no one is enthusiastic unless they are like giggly Rian Johnson.

I would like to see a Blumhouse remake of Turner and Hooch.
