I can see doing a franchise movie/remake here and there to afford himself more stuff like The Guest, but this is his fifth in a row. And the two that are out weren't very well received.

And can you tell me what films you would like him doing more of that wouldn't sound tedious please? Is it the lack of period dramas on his CV that has you all concerned about his future prospects? His style is also completely gone. It was those things, btw, that landed him these bigger jobs in the first place. If he keeps making shitty reboots that piss people off for pure greed, how long you think it's gonna last?

Dude, I just said that was bad. I've been arguing that his turn to franchise movies (which Blair Witch was the start of) has been bad. What the fuck are we talking about here?

Whether a remake or a sequel, it's something that won't work and nobody wanted. John Travolta and Nicolas Cage were what made the original film what it was, you're not gonna capture anything like that with this.
