Wait, they're still trying to do that?

This guy wastes his talent so much. His bank account begs to differ and while Godzilla Vs Kong or a face-off remake may not be anyone's idea of upper class etiquette worthy of a gentlemen's club... no director is above doing their job.

Of all the movies that don’t need a remake, Face/Off is especially unwanted.

A Face/Off remake? Will they be able to pull it off?

I can see doing a franchise movie/remake here and there to afford himself more stuff like The Guest, but this is his fifth in a row. And the two that are out weren't very well received. Considering I'm not his lawyer or agent, I don't give a rusty fuck how much money he makes.

This guy wastes his talent so much. My first reaction was to be annoyed because I am a big fan of the original and I don't understand what the point of a Face/Off remake even is. Then I thought that maybe if they made it into a dark horror version of the story and I got sort of interested. Then you pointed out what he has been directing since The Guest and realized that this is probably going to be some lazy uninspired Hollywood crap.

Well, if you don't give a rusty fuck how much me makes then you shouldn't wonder why he tends to steer himself into big budget movies in the first place. And can you tell me what films you would like him doing more of that wouldn't sound tedious please? Is it the lack of period dramas on his CV that has you all concerned about his future prospects? And the Guest wasn't exactly the height of cinematic sophistication either in fact it was pretty stupid.

A family letting in some random serial killing stranger into their home who claims to have been friends with their dead son is certainly not the kind of film that I'd expect someone putting down "big budget schlock" to like.

Yeah...fun. Did anyone say that about Blair Witch and Death Note? His prior films also had self-awareness, atmosphere, and genre bending. Things that have been noticably absent since. His style is also completely gone. It was those things, btw, that landed him these bigger jobs in the first place. If he keeps making shitty reboots that piss people off for pure greed, how long you think it's gonna last?

Because I've got to be honest with you if that's the best you can come up with of Adam's previous supposedly promising film work then long may his big lizard fights big gorilla face off movies continue.

Dude, I just said that was bad. I've been arguing that his turn to franchise movies (which Blair Witch was the start of) has been bad. What the fuck are we talking about here?

Adam has announced that it'll be a sequel after all. Starring Castor Troy’s son or something? If he brings back Nicholas Cage's character from the dead then I will take Hollywood to court. He would've been better remaking it.

Starring Castor Troy’s son or something? He didn't give any more details... but I can't imagine them doing the same plot all over again except with Castor Troy's son.

Whether a remake or a sequel, it's something that won't work and nobody wanted. John Travolta and Nicolas Cage were what made the original film what it was, you're not gonna capture anything like that with this.
