I really haven't an issue with CGI compared to others. Just as long as it either looks good or even if the design looks cool, sometimes I'll give it a pass. But I keep finding Darkseid to be a letdown every time they show him onscreen. And this is his live action debut! If they wanted to one-up Marvel, get a tall actor and put him in costume and makeup. How can anyone or anything one up Thanos when the idea of a man in make up who just happens to be tall that is meant to be intimadating is stupid as hell. If they can make Tim Curry look like a towering demon in LEGEND then getting a fellow in makeup should be a cinch and it'd look cool. What's exactly your problem when people share their two cents on anything?

How many tall actors are bulky enough to play Darkseid with no CGI? Someone like Richard Armitage or Nonso Anozie. Or just a stunt man who's dubbed. We already got a nobody voicing him.

I think Snyder’s original intention was to get an actor and make him big like he did Xerxes in 300. But, because the studio didn’t let him finish his film, he didn’t get to film those scenes. So this is the best he could do with the HBO Max release.

The Steppenwolf CGI is perfect for the otherworldly characters like Darkseid. 90s star trek deep space nine make up just isn't going to cut it.

Also, you contradicted yourself earlier by saying DC should one up Thanos by having a man in make up, do you realize how odd you sounded? Thanos was perfect. The larger than life humanoid god that Steppenwolf was designed as makes sense I'm just not understanding your obsession with sci-fi cosplay in big budget blockbusters.

Because makeup and prosthetics done proper looks fantastic and it's actually there. There's a reason why Lord of Darkness looks better than either version Steppenwolf we've seen so far.

Can you post the Lord of darkness photos so we can compare? And don't you like Thanos? He is not a tall guy in make up and THANK FUCK FOR THAT!

Now, this is a picture of Steppenwolf from Snyder’s cut that looks great to me. With the full armor on. I have no problem with this CGI

They went with CGI and it looked good (like I said before if you were paying attention). Would you expect that to be Tim Curry? Not sure what your deal is over me suggesting costume and makeup Ransom.

WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY
If redemption was the goal here, then it was achieved. Iconic.

Thanos is a giant purple humanoid being computer generated voiced by an actor not a tall actor in make up playing at being intimidating when he isn't.

This was the first post I made regarding makeup on this thread in the first place. "...I really haven't an issue with CGI compared to others. Just as long as it either looks good or even if the design looks cool, sometimes I'll give it a pass. But I keep finding Darkseid to be a letdown every time they show him onscreen. I didn't even say anything that I hate CGI characters. I thought it would had been cool (whether you agree with my opinion or not) that if DC made an effort to bring Darkseid to life the old fashioned way because I know the technology has advanced far enough for it to look outstanding.
