Iron Maiden and Kate Bush are by far my two favorites. Frankly, they are the only two I’m really a big fan of, but going by impact, I’ll pick 3 more. I’m surprised Tina Turner isn’t in already. People always bitch that rap isn’t rock and roll, but it’s hard to argue with LL Cool J’s impact. Also, Jay-Z may not be rock and roll, but he’s probably more famous in the true sense of the word than anybody else on the list save for Tina Turner.

I'm pretty sure that's just a name and they add any kind of popular music.

Always makes me laugh, about the most un-Rock 'n' roll concept in the world, the "hall of fame".

Love that Fela is out front. Must be a massive number of international voters. Or hacks, whatever. Kate last? Booo. Glad Carole King is getting recognition and the hip-hop-rap artists are not near the top. Devo and Rundgren not getting enough recognition. Go-Go's were trivial, but if you're a certain age, I get it. Our vote has Maiden out front: imdb2.freeforums.net/thread/261082/hof-nominations-who-get

Ike & Tina Turner were inducted in 1991, so technically she already was. I guess this would be inducting her as a solo artist.

It's like putting Muhammad Ali in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
John Lydon was right about the HOF

I'm always undecided, except for the rock artists ignored for them. If Tull ever gets in, much less nominated. “The more immediate roots of rock and roll lay in the so-called “race” music, or rhythm and blues, and “hillbilly” music, or country & western, of the Forties and Fifties. Other significant influences include blues, jazz, gospel, boogie-woogie, folk and bluegrass… Over the past five decades, rock and roll has evolved in many directions. Numerous styles of music — from soul to hip-hop, from heavy metal to punk, from progressive rock to electronic — have fallen under the rock and roll umbrella. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognizes these different types of music and looks forward to seeing how rock and roll will continue to reinvent itself in the future.” –Rock and Roll Hall of Fame www.adventurouskate.com/why-hip-hop-belongs-in-the-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame/

All those inductees and Kate Bush and Iron Maiden are not among them? I’m disappointed, but not disappointed.

Hey, I have enjoyed the music of Carol King, Tina Turner, and Dionne Warwick. I heard one Devo song because they guested on SNL one time. I didn't think there would be that many.
Barely recognize the names of the others. I have heard them mainly as Jeopardy questions.

Kraftwerk at last! Electronic music seems to be one area the HoF seems to ignore
I'm still a bit shocked Kate Bush is skipped again. Though the HoF does, understandably, have a US chart act bias. If the same format was done in the UK I'm pretty sure she'd be inducted within a decade, whearas other inclusions like Cheap Trick wouldn't even be considered in a century
Fingers crossed The Cramps and Nick Cave finally get a nomination next year. Though I doubt it
