Basically what the title says. What are your favorite animated movies? It can be a top 5, top 10, whatever you want (ranked or not ranked). Here's my top 20, sort of ranked. The top 7 I would consider 10/10's, the rest 9/10's.
# | Year | Movie | Director 01 | 2013 | The Wind Rises | Hayao Miyazaki 02 | 2001 | Spirited Away | Hayao Miyazaki 03 | 2012 | It's Such A Beautiful Day | Don Hertzfeldt 04 | 2008 | Wall-E | Andrew Stanton 05 | 1997 | Princess Mononoke | Hayao Miyazaki 06 | 2010 | Toy Story 3 | Lee Unkrich 07 | 2016 | The Red Turtle | Michael Dudok de Wit 08 | 2018 | Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse | Rodney Rothman, Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti 09 | 2007 | Ratatouille | Brad Bird 10 | 2009 | Up | Pete Docter
11 | 2008 | La Maison en Petits Cubes | Kunio Katou 12 | 1989 | Kiki's Delivery Service | Hayao Miyazaki 13 | 1994 | The Lion King | Roger Allers, Rob Minkoff 14 | 1988 | My Neighbor Totoro | Hayao Miyazaki 15 | 2014 | How To Train Your Dragon 2 | Dean DeBlois 16 | 1993 | The Wrong Trousers | Nick Park 17 | 2009 | Coraline | Henry Selick 18 | 2010 | How To Train Your Dragon | Chris Sanders, Dean DeBlois 19 | 1988 | Akira | Katsuhiro Otomo 20 | 2014 | Golden Time | Takuya Inaba
Also here are a few picks from the animated movies on my Letterboxd watchlist (101 animated movies in total) so you know which ones I haven't seen yet. Surprisingly of all the 'genres', animation is the one where the number of very popular movies (= classics) I haven't seen is still quite big so I should try to fix that soon. *Anomalisa *Batman: Mask of the Phantasm *Batman: The Dark Knight Returns *Fantasia *Fantastic Mr. Fox *Ghost in the Shell *Grave of the Fireflies *The Iron Giant *Kill It and Leave This Town *Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion *Paprika *Perfect Blue *Persepolis *Redline *The Tale of the Princess Kaguya *Waltz with Bashir

I think this is what my top 10 currently looks like. My top 3 has been definitive for a long time, but the rest tend to shift around. 1. Colorful (2010) 2. Summer Wars (2009) 3. Whisper of the Heart 4. Persepolis 5. Inside Out 6. Kiki's Delivery Service 7. Tangled 8. 5 Centimetres Per Second 9. The Incredibles 10. Lilo & Stitch That's what I feel right now but I'll update it as needed, or even expand it to a top 20 if I feel like it.

Howl's Moving Castle James and the Giant Peach Fantasia Dumbo Fox and the Hound Who Framed Roger Rabbit Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were Rabbit Fritz the Cat (adult only) UP The Nightmare Before Christmas Alice in Wonderland (1951) Pinocchio Peter Pan (1953) Watership Down Lady and the Tramp Disney's The Christmas Carol with Jim Carey (does this count?) there is also a short cartoon (don't know the name) about a couple that initially survived a nuclear war but gradually faded away, I think it was a British cartoon. I must not forget all the old Felix the cat cartoons I always loved

Disney's The Christmas Carol with Jim Carey (does this count?) My issue with all the newer Christmas Carol versions is they leave out my favorite line about Mankind being his business. This one did it. Can't remember if it's in Scrooged. It was also left out of the Guy Pearce one. I love Christmas Carol. I think the Marley Ghost sequence set my perspective on life. Mom loved watching it every year-think it was the Sim one. I wear the chains I forged in life. You were always a good man of business Mankind was my business! Small thing to ruin a whole movie for me, but it is that important to me.

Sakaki is the cutest, every girl loves Sakaki! I will argue Cardcaptor Sakura. I swear it is sweet enough to give one diabetes It is my favorite anime. Haven't seen Clear Card. Talking the old series. I try to keep my faves secret because they figure heavily in my password rotations. My tag at ANN & a couple other sites was CCSYueh. I discovered it still works over at ANN. (Anime News Network)

Small thing to ruin a whole movie for me, but it is that important to me. I also like 3 of the movies (all old ): The Christmas Carol with Basil Rathbone and Fredric March, the Reginald Owen version and my favorite- the Alistair Sim version. The newer versions seem lacking in something. They all omit some parts of the story.
