Damn. And not a single black person has won Best Director. That explains why Spike Lee is so pissed. He should have been pissed just for not being nominated in the category until 2018. He deserved a nomination for Do the Right Thing and Malcolm X imo. It isn't surprising that no black person has won Best Director though. Very few have even been nominated. I think the only ones are Spike Lee for Blackkklansman, John Singleton for Boyz N the Hood, Steve McQueen for 12 Years a Slave and Barry Jenkins for Moonlight. I might be missing one or two.

I couldn't recall but man that was a horrible movie. I remember seeing that when it came out and walked away totally unimpressed. Halle Berry is a great actress but that film was just really crummy. Pam Grier would have been a better choice for any number of movies she did, but definitely Jackie Brown.
