Sanjalice were one of the great Serbian bands of the 1960s to actually secure a record deal. They also made some experimental music videos while signed to the influential Jugoton imprint (and recorded a cover of the Turtles' psychedelic anthem 'Happy Together'), though only some of them saw the light of day.
This one draw inspiration from Yugoslavia's emerging 'Black Wave' cinema movement which was known for experimentation. I wonder if Martin Scorsese saw it before utilising the camera tracks designed for 'Mean Streets' (1973) and 'Taxi Driver' (1976). Regardless, it's a hynotic, rhythmic showcase for a beautiful slice of baroque pop. Hope you enjoy the song!
