I can see them totally doing this. Trump could not become their "King Saul" who disobeyed the prophets. Ironically, Saul's disobedience was in not killing people. Likely as not, the people he didn't kill were ancient day versions of Pol Pot or Charles Manson or other such characters. The fact that Samuel didn't mention this is at least highly indicative, if not proof, that this was such common knowledge that he didn't need to include the evil characters of those Saul spared.
The millionaire false prophets will likely say that just as Saul loved David and named him to his court, so did Trump name Pence to his court. Just as David never laid hands upon Saul, Pence never laid a hand of justice upon Trump. Saul got jealous of David and tried to kill him. That's the new bandwagon so easy to jump on in 2024. I'd be careful about claiming Trump wanted to hurt Pence, because it will fuel the very "fallen Saul to heroic David" scenario they want.
And David is so easy to be like. He was a real creep. Killed people for performing a mercy killing on his enemy. Told his general Joab to abandon Uriah in a battle and make sure Uriah was killed, just so David could legally take Uriah's wife, excuse me, widow. Yet somehow, he had the wisdom to realize he did wrong. Were his regrets just "crocodile tears"? According to the Bible, they were.
Actually, to a real fundamentalist Christian, equating Pence with David would be a mark against him. The fundamentalist believes if you steal a roll of paper towels at work, you're as evil as the man who tortures and kills people in his basement, and all that matters is your final moment on Earth, to accept Jesus and ask forgiveness for your sins.
Naturally, it's easier to ask forgiveness for a big crime than for some petty thing you're being persecuted for. But that's the fundamental view. "Hell's children" are those who die with the unforgiving heart. There's only one character in the Bible who is documented as dying with an unforgiving heart.
On his deathbed, he made Solomon promise to put a man to death for throwing a rock at him. So much for the Christian ethic of having forgiveness in your heart when you leave this world. There is only one character in the Bible that is documented for dying with an unforgiving heart, and that is the beloved King David.
Not that this will make much difference to the false prophets and their ignorant followers. If you don't know History, including the History in the Bible, you will surely repeat it.
Mark my words. That will be the false prophet message for 2024. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Even if his supporters tried to sell him as the new King David, I can't see Pence as a credible presidential candidate. The guy has about as much charisma as a block of wood.

Pence should just return to Indiana and resume his crusade to protect bakers from having to serve gay weddings. That's what he is good at.

I will say this about Pence. During the Former President's term people would say, "If he were removed from office then we would be saddled with Pence who holds the same dangerous and radical far-right beliefs." That is certainly true. But Pence at least presented an outer show of sanity. I would have preferred to wait out the term with him than to stick with the Republican's Cult Leader.

Well, it does seem like Trump supporters want something more authoritarian than a President, just like the Israelites wanting a king instead of a boring old judge.

Pence went against Trump and certified the results in the Electoral College. Diehard Trump voters will not support Pence in 2024. As you well know, all fans have different motivations. Not all his fans are Confederate rebels. Probably less than 10% are Confederate flag lovers. I estimate 33% are poor sheep being fed false prophecies from false prophets. It's this 33% that will abandon him for Pence, because the Republican Bible is Old Testament Bible, and that means King David is their "Jesus". Obviously, Trump follows the footsteps of King Saul, which makes Pence the King David to those who look for similarities. For Democrats, the New Testament party, it can also mean that since the Trumps also resemble Ahab and Jezebel, that Biden is more like the hero Jehu, Sanders the hero Elijah, and AOC the perfect hair version of the bad hair Elisha, with Pence being more like Jehoram, and any female in his cabinet or family would be the most hated woman in the Bible, Athaliah, who is twice the villainess that Jezebel is.

If Trump doesn't run himself in 2024, there will be some other more charismatic quasi-libertarian candidate to represent the diehard Trump fans. Pence just doesn't have the charisma and he personally slighted Trump, so Trump will not back him. Trump would endorse a younger more dynamic candidate.
The Christian right were almost strange bedfellows in the Trump coalition. We all know Trump is about as Christian as the devil himself. There is no deep support among the Christian right and Confederate extremists for Trump. They will front their own candidate. The Christians don't really like the Libertarians.
Also, casting the Republicans as "Old Testament" is a bit off as well. The Christian Republican right is of the Protestant evangelical variety. They believe faith in Jesus overrides everything, including ethical behavior and good works. That ideology is foreign to the Old Testament.
"If Trump doesn't run himself in 2024" I doubt he will, doesn't sound like he has much money at this point. He'll most likely spend what he has left on lawyer fees and back taxes.

They should amend the Constitution to allow foreign born citizens to be President; that way Samson could run in 2024.

Doubtful. Pence made Trump fans so angry they were literally chanting "hang Mike Pence" at the Capitol.

Doubtful. Pence made Trump fans so angry they were literally chanting "hang Mike Pence" at the Capitol. That was what? Maybe 100 people out of the big crowd, and maybe 10 of them were actually instigating that. 10 out of hundreds of millions of voters? The "spin" for Pence to represent David to Trump as Saul, that is so easy to make that I'm surprised it isn't already in the works.

I've been saying that Mike Pence is David for years That stiff having as many wives as David? No way! Yes, he either has to get a divorce and marry Trump's daughter, or announce that he is taking Trump's daughter for a mistress, to start the spin game of him being the new "David".
