Posted this on another board and thought I would post it here.
Went to the store yesterday and got what I needed to make a chuck roast in the crock-pot.
As soon as I got up put everything together and got it started. It smells good. Peeled up three potatoes and cut them up. Added about half a bag of baby carrots and a sliced large onion. I put three slices of cabbage on top of the roast. I then dissolved a beef bouillon cube in a cup of hot water and poured it over everything.
Just a while ago I sliced up some celery and added it.

Very good but I had to improvise. After cooking about 8 hours on high I checked it. The carrots and potatoes were nowhere near done. I put my hands on the crock-pot and it was just warm. On high my hands should be burnt. So I transferred everything into a oven bowl and finished it in the oven. Still turned out very good. Needles to say the next time I go to wal-mart or some place like that I am getting a new crock-pot.

Oohwhee ! I can almost taste it. Just the thing for weather like this. Yesterday was the first day it got out of the teens in almost a week and before that week we got 4-5 inches of snow
I love baby carrots in the crockpot. Best with chuck or pot roast, but I add them to crockpot pork roast, pork tenderloin, whole chicken, boneless chicken, turkey tenderloins, turkey breast, corned beef. My mom doesn't like carrots so I eat them all!

Yep baby carrots are great in crockpot. Just rinse them off and put them in. No peeling or cutting them up. Going to Kroger's today because they have chuck roasts buy one get one free. Sale ends tomorrow. I'll make it again as soon as I get a new crockpot.
