They just didn't turn up last time out versus Fulham. I can't remember the last time they had successive similar outcomes, must have been early season with those five straight wins strung together. Since then, it's anybody's guess W, D or L. Their recent sequence reads L, D, W, L, D, W, L, W...
They sit behind Liverpool and a win would put them above them - with a 10 goal winning margin tonight, that is. It was 2-1 to City on New Years Day so here's to a reversal of fortunes.
Everton 17/2 Man City 3/10

No Calvert-mildly hamstringed-Lewin for Everton but Pickford returns. A bit of a clear-out by Don Carlo after the Fulham defeat with 4 changes. De Bruyne on the bench for City.
Everton: Pickford, Mina, Keane, Holgate, Godfrey, Davies, Doucoure, Digne, Sigurdsson, Iwobi, Richarlison. Subs: Delph, King, Nkounkou, Rodriguez, Bernard, Andre Gomes, Coleman, Olsen, Onyango.
Man City: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Joao Cancelo, Bernardo Silva, Rodri, Foden, Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Sterling. Subs: Stones, Aguero, Zinchenko, Steffen, De Bruyne, Torres, Mendy, Fernandinho, Garcia.

Seamus Coleman comes on for Everton early on. Mina is off. It came from Bernado going down easily under Kean in the box looking for a penalty and the ball was still loose when Mina calf-dived in on Bernado for good measure but only succeeded in injuring himself. An early change for Everton who have been busily keeping City at bay while carving out a chance or two of their own.

It's hard to appreciate the role of Tom Davies here. He's spent all game so far ambling around in the middle of the park, not intent on chasing anything in particular unless it comes his way.

OOF! Jesus picks it past the halfway line but has no time to do anything with it before Doucoure comes clattering in and taking him out. That's a deserved yellow and Decoure feigns outrage at the booking.
GOAL
The ball is picked up by Foden in space in the area. Two Everton defenders rush at him from either side but he gets the shot off in time. It's drilled low and hard and takes a mild deflection off Seamus Coleman, defending with his hands behind his back, and beats Pickford on '32.

GOAL Richarlison '38
They all count. Richarlison hardly knows a thing about it as Digne's shot bounces off the post and rebounds off the Brazilian's thigh just yards from goal.

Richarlison goes in the book for whacking the ball away in disgust following a decision. He looks wound up. So does Foden, just there going in on Davies mid-flight after Richarlison had molested Laporte.

Half Time and Everton must come out in the 2nd half and continue to rattle City like they have been doing since the equalizer. 1-1.

Nice work on the hour from Everton. Outside the area, a three-man move. It goes wide to Digne but he doesn't get hold of it right and scythes it awkwardly, collected easily by Ederson. The frustration of not scoring continues for City, Rodri just there fluffing a shot way off target.

GOAL
Bernado plays with it on the edge of the box, brings it inside without interference, plays it to Mahrez who executes a wonderful left-footer which goes wide of the flailing Pickford and in off the post on '63.

Davies and Iwobi off, King and Rodriguez on as the game goes into the final quarter or so. But City have got a hold on this at the moment.

GOAL. GAME. OVER.
Bernado Silva unleashes a belter from inside the area which fizzes through the middle of two defenders and although Pickford anticipates the shot he's got no chance as nothing but thin air whistles through his outstretched hands.

It's all over. Nothing in the way of pegging back City here but Everton gave it a much better go than when they played Fulham, which wouldn't be hard. What can you say? Everton stay 7th, Man City's lead at the top is now...ah who cares anymore. 1-3.
